Possibly a question and a suggestion.

The showcase section is being reorganized and you're "raising the bar" on what pics get accepted. I get it, and I think it's a cool idea. But I've been wondering about how it's organized now, it seems that one can only browse through pictures by artist, no longer by category.

I might just be missing something, but if it's different now then I would definitely suggest a return of the categories: choosing between 40k, WHFB, Gothic, etc., then subcategories to view images from specific armies/races. Definitely made it easier to navigate.

If the option to search this way is still there, and I'm just missing something, let me know.

I like that, too, organizing by game. I don't see a way to do it, but maybe something can be done with categories.

If we turned it into game categories now, then all the existing photos would have to be moved and that would be alot of work, but its possible

Is there another, easier way to go about it?

I'd chip in moving things. Once school ends in a couple of weeks, I will have time on my hands. I'd just hate for any to be actually lost.

If you change to gaming categories, would they still be linked to users? Could you still browse a user's gallery?

Would it change anything else?

I'd just hate to make the change and then find out that the cure is worse than the illness.

They will always be linked to the user so you would still be able to browse one users photos only, even when categorized by gametype.

The job would still be done pretty quick. I just noticed its just a little more than 700 pictures in there

Blackhat, I take it that each picture would have to be moved individually. It does seem like lots of work. I'd be willing to help as well.

As far as having a criterion for the quality of paint jobs, I'm rather against this. It's a difficult thing to assess, and LO has traditionally allowed all levels of painting regardless of quality. However, the quality of image is another thing all told. It might not be a bad idea to have image screening for clarity, but then again, that's yet another area for admin to patrol.
