View Full Version : Warhammer: Battle March (Xbox 360) Boomer July 2nd, 2008, 09:58 Warhammer: Battle March (Xbox 360)
On the Xbox 360, Warhammer: Battle March includes the original content from Warhammer: Mark of Chaos as well as all-new features, intuitive control schemes and support for online play via the Xbox LIVE online entertainment network. Thrusting players into Games Workshop’s renowned fantasy world, players will be able to control six unique armies – the Empire, Chaos, Skaven, High Elves as well as the all-new Dark Elf and Orcs & Goblins forces – as they battle for supremacy in a world torn apart by constant warfare. The individual units of each army can be customised in great detail, allowing players to put their own mark on their fighting force and strike fear into their opponents with terrifying combinations of weaponry and armor. Players can also control Heroes and Champions for each army, high-powered units that gain new abilities as they tear through the opposition. Placing the focus of gameplay on combat and tactics rather than tedious resource management, Warhammer: Battle March on the Xbox 360 features two control schemes for both master battlefield tacticians and novice warriors that offer full control over all aspects of the player’s army. On Xbox LIVE, up to four players can engage in massive multi-army clashes in head-to-head and team-based modes of play.

I think it'll be a commercial failure- given how horrid the PC version was, I can't see why they're even bothering to port it to the 360... vikingboy6956 July 2nd, 2008, 16:53 So is it a game that has failed or is it a game that simply has the wrong release date.....
1/9/2008 is about 6 months passed. mpdscott July 2nd, 2008, 17:30 1/9/2008 is about 6 months passed.
Actually, everywhere but in America, the date is written Day/Month/Year, not Month/Day/Year, so there's still about 2 months to the release date.
But yes...it is a game that Epic Failed on the PC, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it do the same this time around Boomer July 2nd, 2008, 17:45 I really hope not. I havent played the P.C version so
I have no idea what that’s like, but I am looking forward
to this. Sounds like it will be a good xbox live game.
And yes the date is meant to mean 1st September 2008. So 60 odd
days to go. And hey if this does turn out to be tripe then
there will always be HALO wars which is due out at the
same time! frozencore July 2nd, 2008, 19:04 I have the PC version, and I will tell you why it failed. Every combat just became one big cluster *%&$ in the middle. Aside from the initial placement of your units there was very little tactics involved and you just had to hope that your units came out on top. It certainly had lots of warhammer flavor, though, which made it fun for a little while and the graphics are top notch. horatio_ July 3rd, 2008, 02:37 I have the PC version, and I will tell you why it failed. i agree, I played through the entire first campaign and while it was fun building units and leveling them throughout the game strategy and multiplayer for this is very limited. you can sort of pick your whole army before but there are too many options and hero battles are a huge let down.
im not even that much of a wfb fan just GW in general and it was entertaining.. damn shame the was only one cinematic.. Modelguyicmt July 3rd, 2008, 04:16 Yeah, i bought the thing for $60 when it came out, because I had just gotten a beautiful new laptop which totaly owned every new game. I had to wait 30 minutes for the install, then once I had finally gotten to the main page it always came up with an error something to the effect of--- "Insufficient memory":freaked-out: So, after much cursing and frantic searches on the internet, I found that I was not alone. Now I just wait for DOW2. Which appears to be an excellant product. Search for the trailer, it is jaw dropping! Personally, I am tired of "failures" being sent to the consoles, where they are always better than the PC version simply because more effort was applied. (Halo?) Halo was strange- it's an extremely average shooter, with nothing really exciting or revolutionary about it, unlike other popular games like the Half-Life series. I guess Mark Of Chaos might sell better than on the PC, it really depends, given that the market for PC games and the market for each of the individual consoles tends to be quite different. That said, I don't think the addition of new features would make it all that superior to the PC version which was, again, a dismal failure. Izzinatah July 3rd, 2008, 19:09 It looks better than MoC, and hopefully being on the Xbox will mean most of it's problems (i.e the fact you have to play it on a PC (which isnt necessarily focused on the game) and the game was riddled with bugs) will be nullified. Maxy_the_con July 4th, 2008, 09:28 yes the PC version did go down in a flamming ball,
and true what frozencore said it is just one huge mob brawl until
something gives way, i mean the graphics were amazing its just
a shame that the tatic in the battles just dident shine through at all..
but im seeing little hope for a grand enterance for this game either warhammer madman July 4th, 2008, 17:03 i have the pc version and i like it (mostly)...
the thing that killed it for me was lack of stratagy and the stupidly long loading time
it once took me 1 and a half hours to get from the main menu to a campain battle stupid!!! then i was told to get of the comp and go to bed (being around 11:30 and my parents were trying to sleep and failing with all the comp noices...):freaked-out:
one person said "you could grow a beard in the time it took to load even if your a girl!"
that says it all...:skeleton:
this game could have been a smash hit on pc if they had spent a little more time on it...
flank charges mean nothing after trying to set one up the unit simply turned around during a frontal combat:freaked-out: only to repell my knights!!! | |
