Thought I would get some pic's up of my first model, its nearly done just the gun to sort out. The shadow and highlights havent really shown that well on the camara. Little bit miffed had a whole terminator squad in its sprew and managed to misplace them apart from the legs lol so had to use some arms from my lord sprew.

It looks good, but i can't tell much from that blurry pic.

Well, form what i can tell, it's not bad.

2 Tips:

1. Balance your camera on a pile of books, macrophotos get shaken up easily.
2. try adding some washes and highlights to add a little depth.

I like the shoulder pad. Red looks nice aswell. Think id agree with the comments above, steady the camera with a tripod or sturdy books then we should be in business and able to give more help :)

1crit : the red is a bit too much towards lipstick-pink for my tastes, used a white basecoat?

i like my khornates just a tad darker :act-up:..

The shoulderpad certainly looks as though it contains a lot of nice detail, and the overall paint seems to be fairly smooth and consistent (which can be no easy task with red.) It's especially impressive if this is your first model you've painted for 9 years (guess it's kind of like riding a bicycle, eh?)

A few suggestions though:

- I can't say for certain due to the slightly blurry nature of the photographs but it looks as though the skulls may be a bit flat. I usually work up from a dark brown (Bestial Brown or Scorched Brown seems to do the trick) followed by Bronzed Flesh believe it or not. Then I apply a very watery Bestial Brown "wash" into the recesses followed by a coat of bleached bone or two. After that add a bit of white (2:1 or 1:1 BB:White) to the raised areas and if you so desire a pure highlight of white on the very edges. This involves a fair few steps, but looks pretty fantastic once you finish.
- The red certainly does the job but for World Eaters may look a little bit too light, (or pink even.) There's certainly nothing wrong with the colour, but you may want to consider using a black basecoat which automatically adds some elements of shading. It makes the whole model come together better at the end, and saves time from having to use black for all metallic bits.

Nice job with the berzerker crests.

The faces of the helmets need a little more definition. I suggest a wash with ink and rehighlight the raised edges.
