New 5.ed FAQs has arrived for most armies.

GW Online : News : Errata (http://uk.games-workshop.com/news/errata/3/)

Some strang thing and something nice there.

- DH Landraider Crusader with machine spirit may fire one more weapon than normally under 5.ed when moving, and at a different target !! So it can fire two weapons when moving at combat speed, and one weapon if at cruising speed or if stunned/shaken. !! wow.

- Now to add some fun, the wording in the BA Codex on the Power of the Machine spirit seems to be different than in DH.....

-Necron Wraith now with both 3+ arm save and inv.save

- Space Wolf WGBL may take heavy weapon

Can anyone give a summary of the 'Nid FAQ? I can't view the GW site from work and I may be here a while yet!

Thanks for the post either way.

wow, they clearly put no effort into the necron one. How exactly can you still own an older version of their codex?

- it's now clearified that tyranids and the (creature itself ) within synapse range are not affected by the instand death rule. Exept swarms.

- It's also clearified that creature who are fearless don't go into instinctive behavior.

- Carnifix barbed strangler is now 20 points.

- specified that two of same weapons count as one twin linked weapon

edit: not a nid-player myself i'm unshure if these are new.

1) All nids are considered infantry unless stated otherwise in biomorphs or special rules

2) Hive tyrant is not an IC and cannot be attached to units beyond the tyrant guard

3) Spore mines cause pinning

4) Deep striking spore mines detonate rather than suffer mishaps

5) Bio acid spore mines always roll 2d6 + 3 for armour pen even though they are blast weapons - they don't halve their strength if the hole is not centered on the vehicle like other blast weapons.

6) TMC's can fire two twin linked weapons per turn

7) Detonating spore mines does not mean the synapse creature has to assault the same unit the spore mine hits.

8) Warp Blast is a considered a shooting attack

9) You can take both types of adrenal glands.

10) TMCs + Rending claws vs Vehicles - when rolling for armour pen for each 6 that you roll you may roll a further D3 - potentially resulting in an armour penetration value of 28 if my maths is right...

Well, all the nids' stuff sounds good to me from the summaries. Sounds like some age old questions are being resolved and all that. I'll read over it when I have time later. Good find my friend.

Just goes to show you don't know everything about the history of the Necron Codex :) I happen to have one of the mentioned "older version"...

I'm happy with everything in the Necron FAQ, particularly the Particle Whip clarification :)

The Necron FAQ has some wierd stuff, but they finally ruled on whether or not power fists get the STR bonus.

I'm kinda miffed that they changed the way the Monolith and Scarabs work. We used to be able move, teleport, then move the troop again.

Since I don't own a Monolith that doesn't really bother me as much as the Scarab change. Scarabs no longer ignore terrain. It says right in their description that they ignore it though... :freaked-out:

Don't take it personal on the Scarabs :) It's just that the Universal Special Rule "Turbo-Boosters" has changed in the 5th Rulebook... so of course the Scarabs movement changed too along with it, and supersedes the text in the Codex (which was written So long ago, anyway) ;)

Thanks for the post either way.

A couple of other are that lashwhips are cumulative for each Tyranid in base contact. Also toxic miasma is not cumulative, so loads of creatures with it won't reduce WS by more than the effect of one creature.

I like how for Space Wolves, half of the Q&A section was just about the Wolf Guard Battle Leader. Lol, I guess he is sort of confusing...is he Wolf Guard or is he the Battle Leader? The world may never know.

Wow, they solved 101 debates on the necron and rules question forums with that necron FAQ. Admittedly, some of them were against the necrons(scarabs) and some were for(wraiths armor save) whilst others may have been against but are largely inconsequential due to 5th edition(PF vs Liths). Nice to have answers though.

Hah! Bioplasma isn't Rending! :) I remember a few of the massive threads dedicated to that very issue. It appears that common sense was correct after all. Surprise, surprise. . . ;)

We now have a total of one or two times GW has ruled in favour of common sense and over 9000 times where they've ruled against (high elf dragon armour, anyone?).

I really hope they even those two numbers out..... Common sense should be common.

Nid FAQ is not impressive!
Its a 4thed one - they just got round to updating it and ending all the 4thed arguments that cropped up for all the time that 4thed was out for!
I can't really see how its adapted nids for 5thed - barring the unit designation to troops.
Yes I am glad that these things have been = at last = dealt with, but I was expecting some alterations to soften the blow of 5thed a little. I know a new codex is proably on the cards, but with their current lineup its a very long way off (and 4thed codex was nice - way better than 3rd ed!)

While saddened that they made a definite splitting of the WH and DH inquisitors, I'm happy my Vindicare can shoot up my opponents while they're bogged down in melee. Now none shall escape my horrible shooting!!!

- it's now clearified -
- It's also clearified -
-

Just to nit-pick, its CLARIFIED, that C-L-A-R-I-F-I-E-D is the correct way to spell the word you are seeking.

The FAQ's didn't clear anything up for me, since I like to keep my armies simple. The best information was the typos on the ork codex.
