Hi there. My CSM log is up in the blogs forum with lots of piccies.

Essentially, I am making a CSM list based on wordbearer colours (purely because I like scrollwork + the fact they corrupted Horus muhahahha)

My next unit is a set of 10 of the new FW berserker models. I bought a load of sets so they are pretty much all running/leaping whatever.

I am undecided about what colour to go for. My problem is I dont want them (or their rhino and landraider) to look to similar to the generic word bearer CSM.

Someone suggested i should do them all crimson so my army troops would be:
Word BEarers: Crimson/bone
Deathguard: Bone
Berserkers: Crimson
Which, whilst making sense, does not really "do" it for me. I am looking for any possible suggestions that people think would look good. If people have linkies to pix, that would be even better; I have trawled CMON but maybe I missed something.

I dont really want to go classic blood red all over as I have some of these already
Some of my ideas are:

Dark Grey body with red helmets brass trim
Crimson body with bone (or dark grey) helmet - Brass trim (worried that this would look too much like word bearer - particularly the rhino/land raider)
Bone bodies with Crimson helmets

If anyone has any pics of berserkers in these chemes, even better! Also, any other schemes people have seen work, however weird, please say.

I will paint some basic berserkers up to test the sceme.

How about black armour with red trim and bone helmets (though this may look too chaplainy)? or Brass armour with red trim?

I have an idea for my Black Legion cult marines.

Basically, because all the CSMs in the Black Legion paint their armor black, I am going to do the same thing and allow the variations in armor to indicate what's what.

Berserkers - Black armor with bronze/brass trim.

Thousand Suns - Black armor with yellow banding on the helmet.

Plaguemarines - Black armor with a gloss coat to appear slimy.

Noise Marines - Probably won't use them.

How about a mixed unit? The word-bearers are all for chaous undivided and are about as close to a regular 'codex' loyalist chapter as chaos marines get, so why not make it a unit that newly fallen marines join?

You can have marines from loads of chapters in it but unite them together, and to the rest of your army, with basing, scroll work and crimson chaos icons. Imagine Space Wolf Beserkers, a BA Death Company beserker (handy but dangerous to know) or some other chapters of your choice.

Makes things a bit themey and tells a bit of story too, without heaps of effort.

how about red with a (maybe) magenta wash , with white trim?
