I'm sorry if this is being discussed somewhere else, but I couldn't see it anywhere...

Has anyone seen/heard/felt-a-disturbance-in-the-force anything in relation to the new Space Wolf Codex?

I'm fairly sure it's the one after Space Marines.. so it's coming out fairly soon-ish.. though I can't even find a reasonably accurate release date.

Essentially, I'm just worried that they're going to break it. As alot of what used to make SWs really unique, but not overpowered (Scouts arriving behind the army, WS+BS 5 Dreds) are going to be in the new SM Codex, people've been saying the Wolves will be made 'even better'... but getting better from where they are, they seem in danger of becoming too good, if you see what I mean?

Anyway, ramble over, anyone know/suppose/guess anything about the new Space Wolf Codex?

All the rumor's I've heard agree that Space Wolves will be one of the next 3 Codices. It's supposed to be either Dark Eldar > Space Wolves > Imperial Guard, or Space Wolves > Dark Eldar > Imperial Guard. Last I heard the former sounded more likely, but these are all just rumors, and GW delay things and change their minds all the time.

Im excited thqat the new codex is comming out soon. I hope that they do not break them, im finally restarting my Wolves army again and im really lookingforward to this. The fact that they are giving all scouts the ability to show up behind enemy lines i dont like cause that was one of my favorite things about the wolves. Nothing better than a tank hunting squad showing up behind you hammerhead and devil fish filled friends tau army.

The order at present is Space Marines --> Space Wolves --> Imperial Guard --> Dark Eldar. It is possible that Space Wolves and Guard will flip flop. Dark Eldar is the last of those 4, no matter what, at present. I don't know where the earlier poster heard that they were sooner than both, or either.

Last solid leak showed a December ish Space Wolves release. I suspect you'll find they are made very different from the combat squads / etc. oriented new marines, given their radically anti-doctrine stance. They won't be more or less powerful, just visibly different.

December, eh... and they're re-doing IG about the same time? That's 2 armies I'll have to re-do, then :P

Also sorry to disappoint HaZ, but I'll wait to hear otherwise from the same sources that I'm using, which have been flawlessly accurate over the past couple years re: 40k codex release dates.

It doesn't affect me much either way, but all signs point to Space Wolves first following Marines, IG shortly after early in the new year, and Dark Eldar in Spring or later of next year.

the dates keep changing, but seems everyone from forum users to gw staffers believe that the next 3 40k codex after spacemarine in october are imperial guard followed by either dark elder/space wolves.

no dates confirmed apart from 'sumtime in new year', and these rumours have been around awhile. not heard anything concrete about whats in them. forum chat about IG seems the same no matter which forum u scan.

there exists 2 pics of space woles in resin, one with a bolter, other with 2 powerclaws, according to some GW staffers these are to do with the space marine codex in October rather than spacewolves codex sometime whenever.

also, new toys for the new spacemarine codex is being staggered over 6 months with new ork toys. the landspeeder storm is supposed to be january.

rumours being what they are, best to wait till sumthings in your hand....

Space Marines in October, Space Wolves in Dec/Jan and Ig in March/April, is the best esitmation I have heard.

If IG was in Dec/Jan, we would of seen minis already. We've started seeing Wolves now.

Even as a Guard player who'd love to believe it I'm afraid I'm not persuaded. You can never be certain 6 Months out but the 'collective' impression is that Wolves are the Christmas release (the majority of sources have been indicating this for a good 2 months).
I'd love you to be right, but I won't get my hopes up :(

isnt chaos mortals the christmas release? how many times has GW released 2 new codexes or army books in the same time period?

iv heard its Space wolves > IG > dark eldar, as has been said the majority of people/release scheduals that have been seen online this is how it is. I'v also heard that Dark Eldar could be as-far away as christmas 2009/2010, i hope im wrong about this though... as i'd love nothing better than to see the dark eldar either before or after the wolves, it has been said they have the book and models done... but i guess we should just wait and see.

spoke to my local GW manager today for clarity, the schedule provided to the stores is havign IG at chrimbo, officially unofficially true :P

im a SW player so i would prefer the other way but IG need a codex 1st

I wouldn't believe GW managers, they just wanna sell more models. IG are March athats why we are only seeing greens now. Brimstone and Harry from Warseer have said SW are in December, but well they haven't been wrong lately all there schedule for this year has been correct so I don't see why it would be wrong now.

Chaos Mortals is the November release.
