Hello, so after 3 or so hours today I painted up my Callidus for my Witch hunters army, but I would like some suggestions on anything from you guys. I'm pretty bad at painting I know all the techniques but I cant really pull them off.

Kind of bad lighting cause I'm also bad at photography.

EDIT Crap I just realized I spelt the title "Imporved" instead of "Improved" *grumbles feeling like a fool*

Well, I'm not a painter, but highlights are recommended!

Otherwise, I like it.

Seems to need to need a bit more depth. Do you have a macro feature on your camera?

Pickle I know absolutely nothing about cameras and there is a substantial amount of highlights on the figure but cause of the lighting / camera they cannot be seen.

Fiddle around with your camera and find a little icon that looks like a flower. Thats macro, it will take detailed pics of close up objects. Also take the photo outside in the sun for a true colour picture, light bulbs tend to make the colours slightly different. Hope that helps.

Take more time with your painting. 3-4 hours is alright, But for better results. take even more time.

But something that will help to improve painting which is better then any suggestions made by people on forums... Is to go out and seek an experienced painter who is willing to sit down and teach you for a while. Gw stores are an excellent start.

So far the model looks ok. My suggestions would to look up about highlighting and perhaps use thinner paints.

Did you wash the figure? I mix of the red and badab black wash would be a really easy way to shade the figure.

Here's my take on assassins = step-by-step (http://www.kan.org/michael/mkp/imperialassassins.php)

Macro FTW! Also, remember that macro is designed for cameras which are PHYSICALLY up close to the object, NOT cameras that are at a distance and then ZOOMED IN up close to the object.

Learned that one the hard way :P

Is that flash between her hair and tabard? If so that should go.
I've no other real quibbles.

I didn't notice that at first but it does indeed seem to be flash? Otherwise I'm liking the red suit idea, actually looks rather nice.
