Well, I've been stuck on my IG, and been itching for them to get here. And now that they are, I've started slopping paint around just looking for that perfect camo scheme. Here's what I've got so far.
(Note: The yellow pad is the SDI, Squad Designation Indicator, so changes from squad to squad. Also, the edging on the Sergeant was just an experiment, no way in relation to the camo schemes itself.)

Now, I also realize that all these colors need some shading to get them to stand out some on the edging. I'm still figuring out how to do that. with them. Any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated.
The guy at the far right is my 'standard' coloration. He's the normal colors, a testors enamel Rust color, with a testors enamel flat brown shirt. I'm currently in the process of swapping over to acrylics for these guys, however I'm just having issues mixing up a good matching rust color and have something like four bottles left of the stuff :P
Now, Sergeant Color Bob, my test monkey for the whole coloration thing, is a take on the Australian scheme; really light blobs of color. Its a light tan and then a really light yellow-white color, overtop both of the original colors. (Bob is also the very first guardsmen I painted. His helmet used to be a flat brown like the shirt, but I changed that tonight trying to get a rust color match up from the acrylics)
Private Joe Snuffy (who just fell and broke yet AGAIN...and lost his canteen and ammo AND grenades..that's coming out of his pay!), in the center is a take on one of the camo designs on the GW site for 'wasteland' camo.
So, now I need to fish for opinions here: Do I leave it the same? Do I use the Sergeant's camo? Do I use the Private's? Or is there another scheme someone else thinks would work really well?
The only thing I don't want to do is have to repaint my guardsmen entirely! I've already got a frighteningly massive list of "To Do" on my plate for this game as it is!
