I play high elves but when I saw the dark elf models and played against them in battle my will was broke could you tell me what I need to buy and what the dark elves are like playing with are dark elf warriors awesome 20 for 120 points *drool*

High Elves have many advantages that make them worth the extra points. They always strike first (HUGE ADVANTAGE), can fight with spears in 3 ranks, one unit can have a magic banner, and they come with shields! Darkelves have the always hate rule, but thats not nearly as good as the high elf bonuses.

Dark Elf players, from what I've seen, don't rely on there standard warriors in much the way that high elves rely on theres. Actually, I usually see dark elf players taking warriors to fill points or for sacrificing.

I was thinking of going with either dark elves or dwarfs and after telling the guys at the GW this they ran me through a small game using both armies. The dark elves were amazing and just have a very distinct feel and play style. In my opinion they're rules match their fluff a lot more than some other armies.

I would say that the battalion box is a good start as everything you get is useful. From there go with a sorceress and you should have 1k pts ready to roll. After this I expanded with a second sorceress, an assassin, another box of warriors and a RBT to get myself to 1500.

I find that with two sorceresses taking one with lore of darkness + sacrificial dagger and the other with lore of metal and tome of furion is a great combination.

Once you expand to higher than 1500 pts go nuts and add whatever you like... Execs, blackguard, hydra, shades...
