Right, so I've been posting a few pics of my Blood Axe boyz in another thread, but I thought my boss deserved a blog of his own, especially because there hasn't been too many updates on my other blog... maybe I'm lazy.

Anyway, here he is so far. I will be smoothing out the GS on his coat next, and adding some webbing and straps to his gear. I will also be orkin' him up a bit with some spiky bits and some proppa gear.

Pretty cool! A warboss commissar! I'd like to see how it turns out painted.

Looks good, but coat seems a bit "flat". Maybe it needs a few wrinkles etc in it. Can't wait to see this done.

I agree with Pickle. Some wrinkles in the coat would suit it, some around the back of the right arm would be good.

It would be nice to have some splits or patchs sown on to the coat to, adding some Orky character.

Sorry to say you're about a month too late. A pal of mine at my local GW has already converted and painted a very nice Ork Komissar. Similar to yours but with a smalla gun, a bigga krumpin' stick, and a longa koat.

Still it's good looking. I would suggest a slightly longer coat on him, he shows a little too much boot I think. It just looks awkwawrd to me. I look forward to seeing him painted so I can make comparisons!

Yea, it's been done often, seen a few on Warseer, others on Ammobunker, seen a few on Da Waagh too. Still cool to see different people's takes on it.

Indeed, I didn't know there was a competition going or I would have got mine done sooner. :p

I have also seen great uniformed Blood Axe bosses done before, and in the fluff this is how they should ideally look. Thanks for the comments everyone! I'll be updating this thread shortly.

Right... here is an update!

He's on his way to get finished and ready for painting soon. I have added webbing and gubbinz and a bosspole. It's a bit weedy at the moment but I hope to beef it up with glyphs and stuff. The banner will probably be a torn Space Marine banner of sorts.

I've added a boy for size comparison... just so there's no question about who's in charge!

Yikes! I've been following this for a while and didn't realise just how big he is! Good work, it should look great painted...

I like the hats. Are you going for a communist ork theme? Like cuba? If so one of those guys needs a cigar. A big cigar :)

Nothing communist about these guys. They are just Blood Axes. :)

That is an example of hardcore green stuff skillage if I ever saw one. I don't necessarily agree with the 'longer coat' idea... he is, after all, an enormous warboss, and I like the idea of a dutty loota krumpin' an IG commisar before stealing a coat that's way too small for him.

I might actually sculpt some stitches and what-not to illustrate that this is a home-made coat... It's not quite orky enough...
