The tacticals are for objectives. The vindi will cover the tacs / objectives while the assault squad + captain counter assaults. Land Speeder and attack bike are fast fire power or objective contesters. Scouts outflank and cause trouble or are a speedbump. Sternguard come down first turn, combat squad, and blow up tanks / shred infantry. They then look scary and draw fire.

Unless the SMs can wipe the initial Warrior squads first turn and stop the webway portal, they are gonna have a very bad day.

I don't see very many ways they can counter the DE. They're gonna get picked apart, and might even be tabled, or at least very nearly so.

I agree with wyrm here. That Vindicator could cause some problems, but Some Dark Eldar Cabal should be able to blast the Marines into the ground with those guns, and have little trouble while assaulting them.

Those two 16 man webway squads are easy meat for the heavyflamers, I see the marines wiping them out fairly easily.

As long as the marine player spreads out and dosent cramp his squads close to eachother he should be able to take this. Combat squad the assault marines to tie up/whipe the eldar long range support. Run up close to put heavy-flamers to work on the initial warrior squads.

This could go either way, but since the marines have 1st turn and deployment im tipping their way.

Space marines have a serious lack of ranged firepower to keep the Dark Eldar from reaching their lines.
Skarsguard I see your point with the heavy flamers, however I don't see them getting to the Dark Eldar lines while under the watch of those dark-lances. The marine vehicles would be gone by turn two shooting. The armies seem to be about even for troops, but those tri-plas ravagers are going to make a major dent in the Marines, that I don't expect them to recover from.

My vote goes to Some Dark Eldar Cabal.

I'm not too experienced with Dark Eldar in general, but based on the composition of the Space Marine list, which seems odd to me, I'd lean Dark Eldar if I would be voting. The Sternguard would come down and put some major hurt on one squad, or a little on two if he splits, But then would be shot to ribbons in the following turn, especially if the webway portal opens up. [Again, this is not a vote, just some talking out loud]

The dark eldar player is keeping everything except the warrior squads in reserve.

The eldar player said they deploy their webway squads "foward in cover" The drop-pod sternguard can take one out by themselves.

The rest of the army can take out the other one. Most of the army can move 12" and still shoot, I see the marine player racing forwards with the rhino squads, disembarking 2" and rapid-firing the heck out of the other squad and since the sybarite is not longer "guarranteed" to be the last man standing I see the dark eldar plan falling flat on it's face.

The Dark Eldar are simply to fast and able to rapidly shift the table and angle of attack. I think they have the advantage though obviously the marines can cause heavy casualties if those warriors don't get precisely where they need to be on time....

Im definately for the Dark Eldar in this one. I dont think the marines can remove them fast enough, the WWPs will be dropped first turn, the heavy flamers cant remove a whole squad, nor can you sniper with them, and I only think the sternguard will be able to get close enough, the land speeder wont be in flamer range.

The dark lances will open the rhinos, the ravagers will kill the tactical marines.

I'm for the marines on this one. it may just be that i don't know enough on the dark eldar but the bike, land speeder, and assault marines should be able to reach the eldar line fairly quickly. Also the scout can infiltrate if able (I'm not sure) I mean just because the marine/dark eldar made their stradegy one thing it doesn't mean they can't change it if theses two were to fight
