I got this idea for a special character from Francois! I'm still working on the rules for her so I will post that when it's finished but for now I have the fluff down! Francois told me that this character was based off of Joan of Arc so I kept it true to the story of Joan of Arc (without her death of course) however I did change up the story a little bit and added a bit of variation to it. Hope you like it! Feel free to critique the fluff (especially if you are known as francois)

REPANSE DE LYONESSE

Repanse was a peasant girl from Lyonesse who claimed to be blessed by the Lady of the Lake. Duke Adalhard of Lyonesse noticed that she was being hailed among the common people as a warrior as fierce and legendary as any of the finest Grail Knights. Although Adalhardd was very wary of letting a mere peasant girl join the ranks of the grail knights, he needed every warrior he could get with the growing number of men falling towards chaos. He thought that with such a warrior he could rally his people and fend off the Chaos invasion. Despite her common background, Joanne proved to be an inspiring figure as she fended of numerous attacks from the forces of Chaos. She was properly knighted by the Duke and was given total control over her own army of duty bound peasants and knights. At first, many knights were still reluctant to join her, but gradually more knights fought under her for the Lady. Impressed by her, triumphs against chaos, some noble women decided to receive training under her as knights and follow her to their last breaths so that they might also receive the blessing of the lady. Repanse continues to wage war against chaos and other brutal invaders so that the light of the Lady may shine through in the darkness that surrounds the realms of Bretonnia!

did you think that up on your own? Or did you look at the 5th Edition brettonian book and borrow the character from that book, which convieniently has the exact same name you thought up on your own?

No, I actually got the name from francois. I never had the 5th edition book myself.

Hi Al, I'm sorry, I should have been clearer about Repanse, I forget that the fluff changes and that what was is not what now is sometimes. Repanse did appear in the earlier Bretonnia book, I should have mentioned it. My main thought about adapting her was assuming she had died some time ago (hence her not being included in the present book) and that a cult had sprung up around her legend. I'm sorry it sounded like I made her up myself, that was careless and thoughtless of me.

I must say, I love the way you are bold and creative enough to take on making house rules characters! You have a wonderful imagination, and the confidence to be objective about it. Actually I would like your help inventing Repanse one day soon...for 40K! My idea is that old relics from ancient Bretonnia had some of her DNA on it, and the Ecclesiarchy tries to clone her...

By the way Al, I ended up trading extra Bretonnian peasants for...Tomb King Skeletons, lol! I only have 30 or so, but it's a start. My Sisters of Battle and Bretonnians are my main focus, but one day I will rejoin the legions of lost Lybaras! Thank you Al, if it wasn't for you, I might never have had the guts to start the army over again.

Be well! Be Blessed!
Frankie

OK, you were making it sound like you had originally thought up Repanse De Lyonese on your own, that was the impression I got.
