Hai Everyone! :)

I'm about to play-test Daemons of Chaos in a friendly game against my Brother :) I will face High Elves (sigh) and I'm looking for some advice, since my ordinary armies are Undead...

Special Character Choices are available! ;)

Any suggestion on which units to field, mini Tactics-guide, any general advices (etc.) is very much appreciated, hehe :sinister:

Well, being a High elf player, I could help you dismantle his army. Do you know a points level you are playing at? Is your opponent a magic user, or a combat orientated Elf?

In the first place, Elves have real trouble against Nurgle and Slaaneshi daemons, (Daemonettes and Plaguebearers), with Heralds in. Their power makes them difficult to take down for our attacks as they strike before us, or have regeneration.

The Standard of sundering is a must against magic armies as it removes the power of the lore of light, and allows you to damage another lore. Flamers do well too, except against dragon princes. Remember anything wearing dragon armour is immune to fire attacks.

If you have any more questions, feel free to message me.

Thanks for the fast reply :)

I am experienced in facing HE since HE is my regular opponent with Undead (TK and VC), but I have never played DoC before... My Brother often uses a balance of Magic and Combat oriented Characters and he is (as well as I) an experienced player. The points limit is 2250 :)

I recently found the Standard of Sundering too - it made me HAPPY :sinister: Mouhahahaha

Any advice on which Lord I would field and what Daemonic Powers I could give Him? :)

A bloodthirster and flesh hounds are always good for crushing...well...anything.

They're both fast and can easily overcome High Elves critical advantage - striking first. These units can hit them in the flank where the number of attacks coming your way won't be that high.

Just avoid flaming attacks on characters where possible (Send the flamers after other targets).

I have made a prototype of my army, and I've chosen to focus on Slaanesh :) I will got some parts of Nurgle and Tzeentch too, while I choose not to field any Khorne... I did also choose not to field a Lord, since they are far too expensive for my taste - is it idiotic? Hahaha

The list is roughly:

Herald of Slaanesh (General)

Herald of Nurgle (Battle Standard Bearer)

The Blue Scribes of Tzeentch

Herald of Slaanesh

Pink Horrors x14

Plaguebearers x13

Daemonettes x13

Seekers of Slaanesh x10

Screamers of Tzeentch x3

Nurglings x4

Screamers of Tzeentch x3

Fiends of Slaanesh x3

Fiends of Slaanesh x2

Any advices?

I can tell you that Noxious Vapours are incredibly nasty against high elves, so make sure you're nurgle heralds have that. High Elves may be able to pack a punch in CC, but they have crap for AS and if they loose ASF a unit of plaguebearers with a Herald with Vapours will roll through most of their units.

Just be careful against Phoenix Guard, obviously!
