it seems that the vast majority of lists on lo feature apart from the standard sniper warrior squads (and even then, the 5 warriors w/ lance + raider loadout is about as common) only raider squads. What are your thoughts on the 10 warriors w/ 2 SC, 2 blasters and agoniser sybarite for 136 pts loadout,or without sybarite for 110 points? Can lists fielding lots of these squads (like the list i usually run) run as well as raider rush lists with lots of 'assault boats' loadouts?

They are very good against gunline armies, which stand back and shoot mostly. The problem is that those armies are the minority in today's 40K. Most armies get up close and will leave large Warrior Squads no option but to enter close combat where they are typically outclassed, UNLESS you can afford to have a good number of Wyches and/or a couple DE Lord Retinues to help out.

So the points saved by not using transports must be allocated to protection for your vulnerable troops, and then your force loses one of the biggest advantages of the army – mobility.

You can of course mix a couple of the large Warrior Squads into an army with 4 Raider Squads filling out the rest of the troop slots. It's up to each player to decide if they'd rather have the versatility against gunlines, or the extra Raiders to help trying to overwhelm the opponent.

I like running big DE foot squads. They can take a few hits before leadership tests and if they are whittled down then the snipe squad raiders can hopefully lift them in to the sky for more devastation as gunnboats.
Is it possible to deep strike an empty raider with screaming jets? If so, and you can deny LOS, then surprise raider rescue would be pretty cool.

I myself use a 15-man Warrior squad with two DL's and two Blasters. So far they have held their ground every game and could happily damage everything that strayed too close.

Also, a model with BS 4 and rapid firing weapon for 8 points? Hell yes. Twenty of those account to 160 points. That would be twenty shots at range 24", forty at range 12", and forty close combat attacks if they charge (and all get into range).

Warriors on foot are mostly overlooked because of their Raider-flying friends, but remember that those can take less punishment to be destroyed or routed.

I prefer raider squads, but I used (lack of raiders in bigger games) to run footslogging warriors, but not less then 13 of them with the similar setup: 2Cannons 2Blasters. They are good shootie squad, I call them Terminator-hunters, as they have fair amount of shots with the good BS, so the SM players used to watch them shoot with funny face . And our Ld is not THAT BAD!

They certainly worth a try. I can imagine the orkie style squad of twenty can work pretty well (just like in the footslogging Ork armies), never tried though.

I run the same kind of squad but only once - currently, I am trying 2 or 3 of them to see if "super gunboating" is really worth it.

On the same note, I do not like the idea of a 5 man raider squad with a lance - I still run them fully loaded as this gives me the option to either keep the warrior squad on foot or use them for gunboating.

But wouldn't that 5 man squad be an annoying distraction in a shooting phase? It has the potential, not absolute but potential nonetheless, to knock out just about any vehicle in the game. Kill points stink but it would not take too much luck to recoup the lost points.

About as annoying as a fly in a fly-swatter factory.

In lower point games where you are trying to stretch your flexibility I would say, maybe. I haven't found the min/max potential of any squad of "troops". The only min/max I like is the 3 reaver bike squad with 2 blasters - a wonderful distraction with a good chance of getting its points if they are ignored (remembering the last game where they were ignored, they popped a Land Raider Redeemer).

If I had to pick a min/max from the "troops" section then I would take this one over 10 man sniper squad. The fact that the raider is a separate unit that can contest while its passengers are scoring is more useful to my style of play than the sniper squad's 2 lances.

So perhaps that is the answer, it depends on your style of play - they don't work for me.

I run a biggish footwarrior squad and use them to accompany my talos. I find the typical opponent's target priority keeps them alive long enough to count, and the talos sometimes benefits from having a backup pair of blasters and an agoniser.

I like this idea, if I was running one Talos then this is a great idea and will make the opponent think twice about getting too close to the warriors. Very nice.

I run two 12-strong squads with 2 lances, 2 blasters and a sybarite with agoniser and pistol (and free rifle). Comes to about 155 points, I think. Good for holding home objectives and gunning down things that get too close. I also have one 10-man raider squad with blaster, splinter cannon and same sybarite as above, just to mess up units that become too annoying to ignore. Works well so far, they're usually the defence whereas my bikes and crazy lone archon are the offence... as well as the talos and ravager, o' course.

Mostly I run 3 to 4 sniper squads. But I'am starting to think about some 20 man units. For two reasons, one is to try them out in the cover edition, and check their survival rate, and second to cut some of those pestky kill points. I play with a small number of raiders and nevertheless I still have 15-16 kill points in a 1.5k game.

Have anyone tried out shreders in the new edition? I mostly pack lances on troops and raiders so I strugle with hordes (orks) sometimes, and maybe a SC plus a Shreder in a raider squad could be the anwser to that.
