Alright, for starters, Army lists, go in the Army List Subforum just above the "Necron" topics area.

Also you are dumping a pile of points into upgrades that honestly aren't going to get you very far. Disruption fields on warriors are reasonably useless, keep them out of combat. Also it's better to field warriors in squads of 10-12.

Destroyers aren't very effective in squads of three. I'd get 1 or two more to bulk up the squad, if not grab a second squad.

Scarabs with d-fields may actually get you somewhere.

There's not really much point to having a d-field on your lord either. The Warscythe will let him penetrate pretty much anything if he rolls one 6 anyhow, and I doubt you'll see many land raiders.

Do you have any other models? it would be really helpful to know what you're working with.

Also, phylactery is an iffy wargear pieace. For the point Gaze of Flame is much more effective, and if you want survivability, Destroyer Body or Phase Shifter are good places to look.

Before someone else says it, there's an ARMY forum section where this type of post should have been.

Warriors don't use disruption fields well at all. More destroyers would be nice, but at 1k, it's typical since we're forced 20 warriors and lord at minimum. So it's really just a matter of choosing how to spend 500 pts. Personally I take 6 destroyers, 20 warriors, and a lord+orb

i am very sorry, i thought i posted this in army list section. must not have. also i got the battleforce and lord just the other day and that is all my necrons (just after starting.) but when i go in a will get some more guys (immortals, pariahs stuff like that.) anyway a mate of mine is bringing me in (don't get to go in much and when i do i don't get a fantasy game because everyone brings in 40k so got some 40k.) i don't have ANY experience with necrons so i will trust what you say. are they more effective at 2000pts? Also when i go in i will get some more guys , which types woukd you recommend? i was thinking pariahs or immortals.

Anyway thank you very much. bye bye

Ah, I was kind of expecting that. Unfortunately the battleforce isn't quite enough for 1k most days. Though if you really gobble points you can make it.

Blow tons of points on the lord will help, but make sure they're well used. A res orb is your best starting point. From there take all of your warriors, if you can mooch two of somebody, even better, you could run 3 squads of 10, which isn't the BEST in 1k but it works. The Destroyers, then scarabs with D-Fields.

Try to score combo auctions on Ebay. You can most likely get out of the box complete sets of destroyers for a STEAL! I got 3 for $25 that way! Then 3 more for $30. That's a steal when it comes to destroyers. I have 10 now and love them severely. The 'other' Necron box set (Warrior phalanx one) with a monolith, 6 destroyers, etc is the BEST set to get by far, but what you have at least gets you started. Welcome to the Ctan worshippers

sadly i don't know anyone who has necrons, so two squads of 14 it is (unless someone in GW is willing to give me two won't happen.) i will give me lord rez orb, phalctery and warscythe (should i bother with D-fields after all warscythe will do good on tanks.) and also should i give my necron warriors D-fields? no.

Thank you very much. bye

In the case that this posting gets to you late, I hope you played well with the ole Necrons and you had (above all) a good time playing some Warhammer.

At any rate, your list looks nearly exactly like my first list when I had just bought the battleforce! If a battleforce and lord are the only units you have, the simple solution I did was play a 750 point game instead of 1000. Admittedly, it starts to get obscenely difficult to win with Necrons the fewer points we play, but that should save you from playing an army that you've just sunk some "filler points" into.

Something I loved doing when I first started was loading my Scarabs up with d-fields and bum-rushing tanks. Now, that was the old edition, and I've since quit doing so in 5th ed, but that could always help; also gives them just a little kick in CC for what it's worth. On a side note, make sure you're only putting 3 to a base so you can squeeze a couple more units out.

As for where to expand in the future, another Battleforce is a good idea. Getting the Phalanx now may be a bit overkill, but you could go that route. I've never had the need to run more than 40 warriors, so to battleforces are just fine. You'll also bulk up your Destroyers and get a few more scarabs. (Speaking of buying Destroyers seperately...I always get H. Destroyers and magnetize their right arms so I can swap back and forth between the regular and heavy. So much more cost effective!)

Hope this helps,
