Hey, today when I went into LO I recieved the most suspicious message. I clicked cancel to the message, but I am still a bit worried that something is wrong. Here is the message:

A user name and password are being requested by -http://d1.openx.org. The site says: "GN-BR01G"

Once I pressed cancel this message came up something like unauthorized access, access denied blah blah blah. But I went on to post this, so...

The problem didn't appear after a few minutes, but it was definatly happening when I loaded LO.

Strange. Hopefully an admin can make sense of it.

What exactly does the link lead to, for some reason Im getting an error 404 and the webpage cant be found, can anyone else access it?

Well, I don't even dare clicking on the link in case it leads my to something I would not want to be on or a virus.

Just a word of friendly advice - if you ever see a message like that, don't click the link. Nine times out of ten, it's a virus attempting to infect your computer, and believe me, you don't want that to happen. If it looks suspicious, leave it alone.

Ruina, what web browser are you using? Just wondering if maybe that could be involved somehow (it seems like it usually is). I'm on a Mac and I haven't received any messages of that sort (yet, knock on wood).

Mozilla Firefox.

NOTE: I will disable the link, didn't realise it was working.

Thats funny, I couldn't disable the link. I had to put a slash before the link to stop it from having URL brackets before and after...

ok, I just got it three times more in a row, so I am going to run an anti-virus test to see if I come up positive with a new infection...

It was definatly when I was in LO

I came up negative to any serious virusis, but...

I just got the message non-stop for one minute. I had just voted in a poll when the message came up, and it constantly kept on reloading pages untill I had to quit Firefox. It was not just reloading random pages, but pages I had viewed on LO in the previous 5 pages (main page, spammies special character thread, Site Feedback and Support ect)

I understand this might be a unique problem, that this might not make sense apart from 1% of the worlds population, but it is really getting out of hand. I will have to leave LO temporarily (of coarse posting Photos on sunday) to get away from this.

Have you encountered this problem anywhere else, or is it specific to LO? I haven't heard of anyone else having the problem, regardless of web browser, so I'm leaning towards a likely problem somewhere on your end (just because if it was native to LO, at least a couple others should have encountered the problem).

It sounds like some kind of virus on your end, unfortunately. As Nemesis said, nobody else it getting it and the virus may be trying to download from a deleted domain (this is a worse case scenario...)

In any case I'd run a scan of your PC, and if you've already got up to date software then dismiss it, it will probably not return.
