Hi guys. Recently i bought the Dwarf army box, and have spent the past weeks building, basing and spraying. With them finally done, i can start painting them. I couldn't find a scheme i liked but after looking at Mousekillers fantastic Dwarf army and tutorial, i thought i could follow that as much as i can and make changes to certain places where i want them to be different. Here is my tester model for the scheme. Its not completely finished yet i still have some bits to do.

Cheers, George.

Thanks. Apparently they are doing another 24hour paintathon and Louis keeps asking me to do it. I suppose i would get a lot done :dance:.

24hours with that ginger naughty word would drive me to suicide!

Looks good so far :) Funny coincidence that this is the 4th dwarf army I've seen of a librarium member with the blue and khaki colour scheme. My own, King Ulrik Flamebeard and Mousekiller have more or less the same colours :)

@the bearded one

They are really nice colours. I've seen Mousekillers and yours but i havent seen Kuffy's.

@mrdee

:). I might have to sit next to him going to gamesday, i havent got my ticket yet though.

I'm working on the other 19 members of his squad at the moment.

Bear in mind these are very old now. I plan to repaint them in the not too far future, just planning the colours and bases etc. :) I also have various dwarf minis (or at least one) hiding out in my blog (link in sig....or you should be able to find it).

Enough self promotion for now. I like the scheme. Its a nice choice, the dark blue contrasts well with the cream/khaki shade. That's my reasoning for choosing it in the first place, very good. I look forward to seeing more. What do you have planned?

@Kuffy, Wow i love the painting. Especially the thane on the stone, thats the one i've got :).

@Tekore, Thanks, I'm working on the other 19 from this guys unit at the moment.

In my army so far i have:

Thane
Runesmith
40 Warriors
10 Thunderers
10 Quarrellers
20 Hammerers (converted from warriors)
20 Miners
Cannon
Organ Gun.

Just about everything is undercoated.

I also plan to buy a Gyrocopter, the models great :D.

I like the scheme, it looks a good, clean scheme. I look forward to seeing it i units. Are you going to differentiate it at all for different units, eg. some units cream trim blue cloth, mix up the arrangement on the shields (vertical AND horizontal halves, quartering, solid colour).

@ArtificiallyEnhanced, I havent thought about it really :dance:. However i do want to have the hammerers stand out a bit, so i will probably do quartering on their shields. Not sure about anything else really. What do you think?

Ok. Today when i was down in my local GW, i said i would come down for the paintathon on monday. Basically its 24 for hours of painting but there will be breaks for whenever your hungry. This will (hopefully) mean i will get plenty of Dwarfs done which i will post up here.

Paintathons, if only we had stuff like that here 0o 24 hours? Means you're gonna spend the night there basically?

HobbyGuy

We sure are. But with plenty of red bulls i hope to last the night :soldier:.

They look great :D You still need to do the beards, axeshafts and such and a beard makes the dwarf, so better finish those up :dance:
So far, it looks great. Try giving some washes to the chainmail and other metal, makes it look cool. devlan mud ftw.

They look pretty good, nice clean painting. I'd like to seem some more variation in beards - lighter and darker browns, greys, black, blonde. These help break the mini up but keep them coherent.

They overall look fine, but some gold or bronze embellishments would suit well. Also, the edging on the banner, I would do it all a single colour - silver works or gold. Make it stand out.

So far though, a solid addition to your army. :)

Kuffy
