So, I'd like to start a slaaneesh-based Beastmen army that's light on things outside of the beastmen army book. I don't understand the core rules as well as I'd like, but I'm slowly working on that.
There's not Friendly Local Gaming Store here, and as far as I know, no one who plays Warhammer Fantasy, so the learning's been a little slow for me without anyone to practice against or learn from.

I like Bray-Shamans, and I like the idea of slaaneesh based beastmen.

What would be the best way to start up a small force (500-750 for now), and including those elements? Thanks!

You can't cross units from different armybooks now, you can only use Beastmen, no daemons or warriors.

Do you not have anybody around there who you can play against? If you won't be able to play fantasy it may be worth just collecting units you like until a challenger appears.

Do you have an idea on a theme? Do you want to try and be magic heavy? Are there particular units you don't feel will fit your theme? Some people prefer Gor-like units only, others like a lot of trolls or minos.

Well, I have a small dorf army from skull pass and a little brother who loves wargaming, so I can always play against him. ^^ I'd love a magic heavy army, and I'd like to stick mostly to gor-type units.

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want, and it sounds good :)

If its magic heave shamen you like, then grab 2. Should be decent heavy magic for a small force... a little expensive (pts) maybe, but you can make up for that with a couple of cheap Beast Herds :)

Off the top of my head, 2 shamies with MoS, two herds (7gors 12 ungors) with full command, 3 minotaurs, a spawn with MoS should put you around 700 pts. Fill out the rest with some chaos hounds and small amushing heards.
