Which unit is scarier?

Just wondering as to which units are the scariest, toughest S.O.B.'s in the ork codex:


10x Nob Bikers w/Warboss

10x Nobz w/Warboss on upgraded Battle wagon (w/kilkannon, defrolla, etc.)

Other - there's something scarier/tougher than the above 2.



Personally, I've faced nob bikers w/warboss and can honestly say that they're a big pain.

While I've played against nobs, I haven't faced nobs on a battlewagon w/warboss before.

Orks work best with greater numbers, so I feel the best setup is the one that gets the most bang for the buck. Personally, if I see the below unit (for 490 points) I'd be a lot more scared than if I saw 10 nob bikers + warboss [around 800] because that's 310 points he spent on other units in the army.

7 Nob bikers w/painboy, cybork, waaaugh banner, bosspole, 3 powerklaws, 3 combi-skorchas

That's the scariest unit if you go by 'bang for the buck'. If you're going by sheer power, the answer is the below unit:

4 Meganobz w/cybork, 4 combi-skorchas in battlewagon w/deffrolla, kannon, big shoota, armor plates, grot riggers, red paint + Mad Dok Grotznik + Ghazghkull Thraka

That unit costs a little less than the 10 nob bikers + warboss, and it's a LOT scarier. Nothing can stand up to 27 powerklaw attacks on the charge.

Gotta go with grax here. I'd rather have cheaper, more efficient nobz than simply more nobz.

I have had no experience with the nob bikers yet so i choose the 10 nobz with warboss on a battlewagon even tho i only take 5 nobs and 1 warboss with a battlewagon they get alot of attention usually than most of the army until there dead of course. One game they survived 18 krak missiles, 6 lascannons shots before getting in to combat and crumpting some marines dev gitz. I love the fact most people underestimate the front armour of our battle wagons :D.

The reason why I give the title of scariest to nob bikers is that they are a lot more survivable and mobile. While the battlewagon is tough, it's easy to bait the nobs with a unit to assault. After they disembark and wipe out the unit, they're left in the open and vulnerable to battle cannon, demolisher cannon and blast weapons.

Nob bikers will always have their 4+/3+ cover saves. That combined with the fact that they can reach almost any place on the map in just 1-2 turns makes them that much scarier IMO.

i too agree that more is better whan it comes to da orks.. 9o boyz some nobs with PK's and a kff mek with a unit of grots... much better that 10 nob bikers..

sure they aint that scairy..< if you play against ork hords alot > but they are effective..

if you want scairy... my money is also on mynameisgrax's... "mega scairy" unit..(shivers):nailbiting:

Imagine the look on your opponents face when you

a) deploy a super pimped up heavily converted battlewagon.

or

b) deploy 10 heavily converted biker nobz topped off with a heavily converted warboss.

I'd say the best reaction would be for the biker nobz, I mean 30 TL dakka gun shots are the LEAST of his worries...

the nobs on warbikes are the worst unit for any opponent simply because of the options for a mad dok and cybork bodies makes them incredibly hard to kill, but i don't think you would every encounter a full squad of 10 in a normal game because it would be just too expensive not to mention that your opponent would hate your guts. In my experience a squad of 5 plus the warboss is enough as they can chew up most troops untis as well as counting as troops themselves!
