Hi

Please can someone clear a few things up for me!

If I take a Farseer and a squad of Warlocks do they count as a Retinue or as a unit with a IC joined? If they are a retinue can I have two Farseers joined to the Warlocks and how would that work?

Also, where does the Seer council name come from? Can't see it in the codex! Is it from the eye of terror codex?

Many thanks

Yeah the name emerges from the older codex edition, which allowed it to be some ungodly mess of Farseers and Warlocks. The name stuck, but the composition changed to be a bit more balanced. As for the Warlocks, there is no mention of it being a retinue so I think most people don't allow the benefits the retinue allows (untargetable in CC for instance). A lot of the older codices explicitly say if something is a retinue, whereas our one does not.

the warlocks are not a retuine and the farseer is an independant character. You may just include warlock units in the army if you have a farseer in the army.

The two above posters are correct; it's a similar case with the Space Marine Command Squad, you can take them when you take a Space Marine Captain, but otherwise they operate independently.
