Kroot as allies

Ok...So I found out about the chapter approved kroot mercenary army codex and saw that CSM's can take kroot as allies...I know it is not tournament legal, but other wise I do believe that CA armies are still legit...Just thinking here, but I would think that kroot would be far more effective than taking demons any day....Has anyone seen this?

I wouldn't do it personally. It messes with game balance and you're going to have to explain it to every single opponent. Some people just won't let you do it, I wouldn't, so you'll probably have to have two lists. Just seems like a pain in the neck.

Demons are insanely under-rated by the way. The Chaos Codex Demons, not the Chaos Demons Codex who do suck imo. :]

I think our lesser daemons are good enough for their points: they have a good statline and they will appear near your squad, a small, cheap unit can support assault.
I am not sure if they could hold objective though... but if they can, even better.

And as a modeller they give us a very good opportunity to make our own daemons. So You can use converted kroot warriors as lesser daemons.

They can score. They are Troops that don't use FOC space. It's a tad confusing but they can hold objectives, trust me.

I am not saying that taking Kroot as allies is a good idea...I think it is an interesting idea to say the least...Kroot can infiltrate, and if you are using the CA codex you can take things like flamers...Lesser deamons are good for taking objectives if you can keep them alive, but I think that kroot can add a little more hurt than LD's. Fluffwise it makes no sense at all, but in a friendly game...might be fun.

Fluffwise I don`t know, why the Kroot can not serve the Chaos? IG can, Orks can, so why they can not?
