Any of you have any Sisters specific tank damage labels?

I am also looking for something to help me keep the squads straight. I thought it would look good to paint my army all the same.. ie their skirts are all the same color, which looks really good on the table.

But I am always forgetting which squads are sisters, and which are celestians and so on.

Anyone have any good markers?

I did this for my old Ork army and plan to do it for my IG army. Basically, paint a color around the ring of the base. Blue, orange, red, pink, w/e. Make the whole squad that color than do a different color for a different unit.

A guy at my store paints numbers on the shoulder pads of his IG but that's to hard for me. ;]

Celestines have always been shown with a sort of glow to them so you could highlight them with some gold. You could paint their bolters differently or even the Fleur on the backpack, or have the VSS stand out for each specific squad.

One thing that you could do base your models differently...I use a lot of plastic card (the kind you get at a train shop and has different pattern etched on to them like diamond plate, cobble stones, ect)...Use different patterns of plastic card and it should be very clear as to who is in what squad and will look great because the bases are not augmented in any way so to look unnatural.

I tend to freehand paint onto their tabard things.. simple stuff like a white line along the border looks good against the red for my dominons. Face plates are another area that can be spruced up easily - curly gold patterns against black or even white (if first done with black line then gold over the top) can look awesome...
I personally dont like the painting around the base because it detracts from the realism (if you can picture a power armoured gun wielding religious psycho bird with a plastic base stuck to her feet as real!). Also bright colours pull the eye away from the figure itself... But that is just my view on life..

In dow soulstorm celestians have a glow around their heads and their helmets have vine/thorn designs on them in gold. If you wanted you could apply this same art to some of the clothes they bare.

You could paint the cloth parts under their shoulders in different colour. For example, when I painted SoB, I painted troop sisters' shoulder cloth with red and celestians' with white.
Also, it is possible to make troop sisters helmetless and give all helmets to celestians.

I used only models with their helms on for my celestians and only bare headed models for my sisters. Before I could afford superior models for my sister squads, I used helmed models for them too. The fluff that goes along with the two models I used as superiors is that they left their celestian squad to lead their lesser sisters during a time of great crisis for the commandery. They both earned scratch built purity seals during battle while serving as superiors (one was martyred and the other killed a witch).

Recently, a new detachment has arrived from Ophelia VII (ie. I was finally able to afford more models), so the superiors have returned to their original celestian squad, but they still have the purity seals to comemorate their tour of duty as superiors. They're the only celestians in their quad with seals, so I can always tell people tales of their valor.

Also, I'm a total nerd (can you tell?), so if a sister performs a particularly heroic deed, I might name her and paint the name on her base.

Instead of painting the whole base I just use a stripe on the back of the base since 90% of the time you are looking at their backs. Another tactic I use is to use a computer and print really small titles on paper then super glue them to the back of the models base. Works very well and only you will see it.
