ok so we all know the trygon is coming with the new dex. Now this would have to be a heavy choice i imagine, so its going to replace a fex. So to my mind, the fex is going to have to change a bit to avoid being outclassed by the trygon. So what do we think ,how will the carnifex be changed in the new dex?

How about either the option to take them as a unit (I hope not though) or to take multiple as one slot.

The trygon will be 200+ points I imagine, the only fex it will replace is the god fex. It will also most likely be a 0-1 option so the carnifex will still likely have reign over the other 2 slots.
From the things ive seen theres rumors of the fexes initiave beibg raised but its strength nerfed, if this is true it will have more impact on carnifexes than the trygpon

Reasons to take a Carnifex:
Carnifexes are cheaper, Trygons are more expensive.
Carnifexes have long range guns, Trygons have short-range "guns".
Carnifexes are customizable.
Carnifexes can be elite.
Most Tyranid players have at least one if not multiple Carnfexes. Most Tyranid players have no Trygons.
Reasons to take a Trygon:
Trygons are fast, Carnifexes are slow.
Trygons "Deep Strike", Carnifexes walk.
Trygons allow other lesser Tyranids to deep strike with them.
Trygons can Tank Shock.
Trygons can Stomp.
Reasons not to make a decision yet:
The Trygon's full stats and abilities have not yet been revealed.
The Carnifex's full stats and abilities have not yet been revealed yet it is safe to assume they won't be changed. Carnifexes are great as-is.
It is unknown if the Trygon will be a full Codex entry.

At the Games Workshop near me, the store manager said that they're going to bring out 'Transport Fexes', which are going to be kind of like Rhinos, except they'll look like proper carnifexes, but they'll be able to carry guants and such around the battlefield.

The Trygon is what is the Transport thing. It can do it now as far as I know.

well according to The Dude on warseer we got this:
Allessio has supposedly let slip the following titbits:
"I cannot speak about the Trygon, but a hypothetical model would have the same detail and more versatility than the Skaven doombell"
"I would expect something similar to a Tyranid basilisk, a new species with a brand new metal model is likely"
"If people want a new Hive Tyrant model will have to buy the Forgeworld one"
"The new book will let players field even more Carnifexes than before"
Here, in Italian:

From another ninja, there are two new plastic sets listed: Raveners, full plastic set, 35 euros, and Gargoyles, 22.75 euros.
Hormagaunts and Termagants will be sold separately, both boxes 19.50 euro. The current Gaunt-box is still listed, price unchanged.
There are also two new names:
Toxatroph, in a Blister, 17.50 Euro
Pyrovore, Metal Box set, 26 Euro
Also, besides the already available Tyrant Guard there is also a blister named Schwarmwache in German, which translates to Hive Guard, Blister, 17.50.
The New Battleforce has its price raised by 5 Euro, which is the same as the new Imperial Guard Battleforce.
I suspect out new creature to be either the Toxatroph, or the Hive Guard
make of the bolded text what you may :)

The Trygon is going to be plastic so it's unlikely it will be a 0-1 choice, they try to sell as much plastic as possible. Also the Zoanthropes and Biovores will still want the other two slots. From what I can tell the Trygon will be a high speed but weaker version of a Carnifex, the Trygon in Apocalypse isn't as strong as a Carnifex, or maybe it's only Imperial armour where it isn't as strong.:watermelon:

Could the trygon even go in FA or elites?

Passable but Unlikely. I'm still thinking that they will be Heavy along with Carnifexes. If any thing gets moved it will be the other two it think.

Why can't the trygon be an HQ choice?

Why can't the trygon be an HQ choice?
You beat me to it xD
I was thinking the Trygon was going to be an HQ choice with a retinue brood of raveners. It'll probably have a rule along the lines of the Monolith where reserves can come out of the hole it leaves in the ground.
I think the model is being made plastic because of it's size and the fact that you can only get it on forgeworld at the moment.

Why can't the trygon be an HQ choice?
It cannot be an HQ choice because it is not a synapse creature. Tyranid HQ units are always synapse creatures as that is how they are given orders.
However the thought does occur to me that they may give the Trygon an option to upgrade to be a synapse creature and then act as HQ. I did hear tell of a variant head that has dreadlocks on it like the Predator, the alien predator which sees in infa-red not the Space marine tank. This person who I trust claims to of seen it with his own eyes. I wonder what it's about?:watermelon::watermelon::watermelon::watermelon::watermelon:

Sounds like the malinthrope.
Last I heard the Trygon model is supposed to be easily convertable into some thing "else". Some said Malinthrope, others made no comment.

Malanthropes are far too small and they don't look anything like Trygons.
I remember reading a rumor that there will be more fex upgrades than there are now.
