2250 new player needing help

As i was reading through the book and read that a combat lord can cast magic i had to go magic heavy. Gotta say this is probly the best heros in my opinion as they can devastate in combat and do magic. SO here it is my 13 PD and 7 DD army.

I played a friend today againts a high elf army he was also playtesting. In turn one its was looking bad for me as he shot down my giant and kill 2 centigors, while i did nothing special, Magic out of range. On turn 2 i sounded the horn and 3 units canme behind his lines including 2 scroll caddy warriors. This turn he didnt do anything and i used up his 4 scrolls and killed an eagle. Also my centigors went frenzied and killed a lion chariot. THe game was done by the end of turn 3 as i killed both his bolt throwers, killed of the other eagle and was going to kill his 2 mages next turn. My centigors got another frenzy and killed a bsb on a chariot,With no scrolls my magic shreded his spearmen and made 10 horrors which killed 3 more spears. He threw in the gloves and called it a game. He said he underestimated gors and his shadow people with his lord were poorly setup. I do agree but the magic coming out of the army also dazzled him as he didnt expect my lords and heroes to cast spells.

So is there anything in the list i can use to refine or improve it by chance? Maybe add hounds so i can ambush more units?
