A good friend and I are entering a doubles tournament, his Tau and My Chaos. My idea so far is:

1 Shas'el, MP, PR, TA, HWMT, 2 shield drones

6 FW, Devilfish, TA, MT, DP
6 FW, Devilfish, TA, MT, DP

3 Railheads, MT, DP

My Chaos forces are:

Daemon Prince, wings, lash of submission
Daemon Prince, wings, lash of submission

10 CSM, champ, fist, Icon of Chaos Glory, 2 plasma guns, rhino
10 CSM, champ, fist, Icon of Chaos Glory, 2 melta guns, rhino

1 Defiler, +2 DCCW

My idea is that I'll use 2 DP's to lash and he can use his huge railguns to kill... everything. My CSM will chase the leftovers and claim far away objectives. My defiler can shoot and will also help protect the railheads. Fire warriors will sit in their devilfish that act as gunboats. He needs 1 HQ, so I thought of one 'all comers' HQ to satisfy compulsory.

We both have sizable forces, looking for ANY suggestions and strats.

We made a small change to the Tau side of the army list:

same Shas'el

2x 6 FW, Devilfish, Disruption Pods

We reduced the price of these units by removing the TA and MT. They aren't big shooting squads anyway.

2 Railheads, MT, DP

Reduced from 3 to 2 tanks.

3 Broadsides, ASS, Team Leader, HW Drone Controller, 2 Shield Drones.

Expensive, but its going to do a great job of getting multiple STR 10 hits on Eldar Grav Tanks, especially when they roll 2d6 on dmg table, and have to take the lower value.

We played our army lists against each other, and found we both had a very tough squad. The final score was 3-3 killpoints a draw, but 1 objective to 2, so I took a minor victory.

The broadsides took out my defiler battle cannon first turn, so I used those lash princes to pull his shas'el and broadsides out of cover and assaulting them with daemon princes and my defiler. I slaughtered his shas'el but his broadsides wouldn't go down, mostly due to those shield drones. I eventually outscored him by killing off one fire warrior squad and just hunkering down and hoping my power armor would save me from sustained burst cannon fire. I think we'll do ok. Any suggestions or dirty tricks we can use, please feel free to post!
