Well. I'm a slooooow painter. By that, I mean that there is so much going on besides hobbies that I seldom have/take the time to sit down and paint. I also physically paint very slow.

I will try to post new painted models in this thread rather than make a new one and will update with links in first post with date in the future.

This is also my first test on using direct image links from Picasa, so bear with me if it doesn't work.

These first images came out somewhat dark after uploading to the web. I will have to look into that. I experimented with blitz mixed with about 30 seconds exposure time and aperture of about 26 or something. I will experiment further.

I used about 8 hours to paint the 3 first genestealers. I partly followed the instructions on GW website and will probably experiment with different colors in the future. I tried to make this a quick paint job, so I didn't go into the detail as much as I would on a single model paint job, but I think they came out okay.

It looks like I forgot to upload pictures of all three, but here are two at least.

1st: Genestealer popping ut through floor. I used some stipple technique to get rusty floors (that counts for all three) and as the genestealer rips through the floor, new fresh steel is unveiled, i.e. edges are freshly squeezed steel metal.

And as seen from behind:

Im suprised noone has commented on these here.

I really like the flooring. Its simple but effective! I do like the traditional style colours. My friend is painting his like aliens the film, but I will paint mine like these, perhaps a bit glossier and dirty though.

Keep it up!

Dan

Really nice traditional steelers, well done and rep. Plus the floor is lovely, how did you do it?

Thank you!

I stippled the floor using the brown-orange range from scortched brown and up to blazing orange. Not exactly all steps in this video, but it was the one that taught me how to do it:

danjones87: Thank you. I figured that a space hulk has been drifting in space for decades, so shiny floors seemed a little "off" to me. I chose rust as it is a rather easy effect and a new one for me.
