Hi everyone,
I'm currently (for a number of reasons) making slow progress on my High Elf army. I've gotten sick of the amount of time it's taking me to paint white cloth and so I'm looking to switch to a blue scheme.
To try and save some time I'm looking to just go almost (i.e. just a break to water down as necessary) straight from the pot to the model with no mixing of colours in order to produce the shades I need (especially since I'll probably forget how I've mixed up any shades by the time I come to do the next batch).
To that end I've been pondering the Foundry 3 colour system (http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/paint/index.asp), probably going for the Tomb Blue combo for general cloth and Deep Blue for cloaks.
Before I go splash out on those sets I was wondering if:
a) Anyone else thinks (or has experience) that these two sets should work well together
b) Anyone knows whether there are similar blue shades in GW's paints I could use instead.
The reason I ask b) is that although I've got the "How to paint citadel miniatures" book which has the chart of the GW paints at the back of it, I don't know if it's just how my copy is printed or not, but I've not found it to be the best guide as to how the colours look when you use them and some look almost identical in the book (Scab Red and Red Gore for example).
It would also be handier for when I need more paint as I can just nip down to my local gaming store rather than having to buy online and wait a few days which I'd have to with the Foundry paints.
Anyway, thanks for reading guys (and any gals)
