Vulkan jumps in the pod with the sternguard, runs around melting faces. One tactical in a pod to land on objectives, the other two in Rhinos to do whatever needs doing.

Dreads and Sternguard come down first turn, wreak havoc and destroy armour or annihilate infantry. Bikes zoom up and start popping more armour. Troops in Rhinos arrive a short time later to mop up or go straight for objectives while the enemy is busy. Scouts are deployed in cover and spend the game picking off whoever. Krak missile, Telion and the snipers should do a good job.

Edit: Changes made. Power fists galore!

HQ: Good.

Troops: I'd try to squeeze in a powerfist or two here and/or a power weapon and switch at least one flamer for a meltagun. I'd recommend the heavy bolter with hellfire rounds for the Scouts over the missile launcher.

Elites: Good. If you are planning to combat squad the Sternguard consider a heavy flamer. They are worth their weight in gold in my opinion.

Fast: Nice squad of tank hunters that can contribute to CC if necessary and contest objectives late game. Personally, I use Vindicators or Dakka Predators paired with MM Attack bikes or Land speeders, but I can see where this would work.

Overall, I think it's a good list. With any residual points consider a combi-melta or combi-flamer in the tacticals. I have found them to be a nice filler and they can be quite useful to flesh out a squad.

Good luck.

Really good list, I'd switch the Flamer Combi's to all Meltas. As for the remaining points, PFs for every unit. EVERY UNIT! :] You won't regret it.

Thanks for the input fellas.
Chirality: I'd love to use a heavy flamer but just don't see myself breaking up the squad. I don't intend to use Telion's voice of experience - I get two almost guranteed hits that pin and rend. I was decided on the missile launcher as a heavy punch to whatever I'm targeting; I wouldn't use frag missiles. I've yet to use my scout with missile launcher, the heavy bolter has done quite well firing normally but those damn shells always scatter too much for my liking. I have faith in the heavy bolter so maybe I'll swap it with the missile launcher depending on who I'm playing.

Prince: I can't afford powerfists for every unit >.< In any case, I've already modelled a power sword onto one of my biker sergeants, and have power fists on two tacticals. I'll get back to building my third tactical and second bike squad after my exams. Unfortunately I have yet to have the priviledge of using a Sternguard squad, so advice taken - combi weapons are now all metla. Can't wait to get stuck into some conversion work......three weeks till freedom!

Thanks again guys. Rep'd.

Afford as in money? Because kit bashing will go far.

Nah as in points, I manage to squeeze in 3 fists and 2 power weapons, with two points to spare.

Maybe drop the Power Weapon off the Pod unit, add Vulkan there and than upgrade another Power Weapon to a Fist. Vulkan hits at....S6 right? So he's almost as good.

I think I'd like to keep Vulkan in with the Sterns, perhaps people will think twice before assaulting 10 veterans with an IC in there, giving them some additional surviability. That aside, the tactical in the pod I will be dropping on an objective probably, or near some cover. The tacticals with the PFs will be more aggressive.
