As I have not found anything with search on this topic I hope someone can help me with this.
In apocalypse you can take the Disrutor Beacon strategic asset, or get it through various formations. My question is this:
can lesser daemons be affected by this if they are summoned within range of the beacon?
In the CSM codex it says on p. 61 that "A unit of lesser daemons is deployed in the same way as a unit that arrives from reserves using deep strike rule, and the first model must be placed within 6" of an icon of Chaos. bla bla bla..."
This suggests that they are affected by the disrupror beacon since they sort of deep strike, but I tend to disagree as they are summoned from the warp and not teleporting from an orbiting spaceship like normal deep striking units does. Can they really be placed anywhere on the board if the enemy makes the roll? Seems silly to me since they need to be within range of an Icon to appear at all. Same goes for the Warp Rift formation in the Apocalypse book, where all the greater and lesser daemons must deploy within range of the warp rift marker.
Also, how does this affect formations which has the Strike Force special rule, like the Cult of Destruction? Lets say that half the obliterators in the formation get through and the other half is misplaced by the enemy player making the 4+ roll to disrupt them.
