Announced by THQ during the past And3 2009, the editor ensured that the game of action Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was being developed by Relic in scoop for consoles, in this case, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. But if you want to that this interesting game go out in PC, the boys of Relic give you a small hope. They have opened a collected of signatures that, if it has the feedback necessary (in principle arrive to the 10,000 signatures), would pose develop a version for compatible of this Space Marine.

Avenges encourage that this game has very good paints and wanted to that it went out in pc.

Heya Fetter88, Welcome to LO.
As this topic is pertaining to upcoming game news, and not the Space Marine Warhammer 40K table-top army, it belongs in the Rumors, News and Previews section.

Not to hate on people who are JUST PC gamers but, because I'm a ps3, x360 and PC gamer I would rather then not bother with the PC and just focus on the console market for this title.
The more units they produce(the PC portion of the game) the more units they have to sell in order to make the game successful. I feel in this instance it's more important for them to try to make this game successful so we get more "good" action oriented 40k games. As opposed to the strategy games that 40k pretty much soley has.
So again, sorry to people who are strictly PC gamers but, I have consoles as well and will intentionally not be signing this. Don't worry though, I'm sure there are 9,999 people out there other than me that want it on PC as much as you.

I may have signed it. Not entirely sure how that petition works.
Having never forked out for a console, I would be interested in seeing this on PC. Though my current machine probably won't run it :(
Maybe a console is the way to go...

Ohh for this to not come out on PC would be...a poor move to say the least. I just imagine that most 40K enthusiasts would be more PC orientated rather than console based, or at least have a PC and one console maybe. There'll be a big player base who had fun in the various Dawn Of Wars on the PC, any of those fans who also like action games would be a potential customer. I certainly will be, even if it doesn't work on my PC as it is right now, I'll be updating it soon enough.

This game does not look that much fun, and I got the DS 40k game!
If it appears on the PC I will consider picking it up, but I won't be going out of my way to get it there.

I'm mostly disturbed by the obvious trend gaming companies have shown in ignoring the market that got them started, the PC gamers. While I can understand that consoles are clearly much simpler to design games for (they all have the same hardware, so no issues there), that doesn't mean that they should leave PC gamers out in the cold...or even worse, just port a console game to a PC and call it done (despite the inferior performance and lack of customisability that is inherant in consoles).
Is it my fault that a lack of super-nintendo, and an excess of PC use, when young, means that I just can't get the hang of the damned controllers? Should this really mean that I can no longer play the latest games, when I can get performance of at least twice that of the PS3 out of my custom built gaming rig?
They should design games they way they used to (ie back in the days of COD4), build it for PC and then dumb it down for consoles and their owners.

I'd rather they make a good game only available on console than a mediocre game available on both platforms.
Then again, the game looks pretty meh.

I've seen the demo video (with developer commentary), and I find it hard to believe that this game would, by definition, become "mediocre" if the developers made PC and console versions. I could see if it had some unique interface device (i.e., the Wiimote) or an unusual UI setup that lent itself more easily to, say, a keyboard, meaning that feature would be stripped out of a game on another platform, leaving a visible hole.
However, since this looks more like a first-person shooter (or first-person melee, more accurately), I doubt the command system will be THAT difficult to port over. Either you use WASD+mouse to move and look, or you use the thumbstick. Developers have figured out how to seamlessly make a game that uses either or for years. Ditto with most other FPS/FPM games (inventory selection, jump, special attack, etc).
No, if (or, I think, when) this game fails, it won't be due to platform conflicts. It will be due to the idea that this is, well, not very interesting. The visuals are fine, heck better than fine (gotta love the Aquilae doing low-altitude flybys), but the gameplay is "meh." You're a marine. You're walking through the hallway/down the stairs/(insert mind-numbingly linear progression track). Oh, look, it's some chaos badguys. Let's shoot them, or better yet, run up and do some button-mashing. Whew! That was close! Now, let's... keep walking.
Add to that the idea that the developers have outright said that they spent more time on the close combat code than the shooting, so the game will be fun if you want to run up and lay the smackdown on the NPCs Tekken-style, but if you like cycling through the guns and picking stuff off from a distance, you're kinda out of luck. Heck, if they wanted a close-combat game featuring the 40k universe, they should have made him an assault marine, or at least given him lightning claws, a chainsword. Maybe the full version will, but all I remember seeing is a dude with a bolter. Fun. When, oh when are they going to produce a Battlefront-style 40k game? Now THAT I'd pay real money for!
But hey, they'll slap a multiplayer version on it, and marine fanbois will go nuts and crash XBox Live with it. After all, that's what's important, right? I mean, sheesh, who needs a SINGLE player experience?*

All of the equipment is customizable
You choose from lots of weapons inclusing chainsswords, bolters, thunderhammers, etc.
It looks entertaining enough to me. It's an action game, it's not suppose to be that complex.
But, then again I've been a fan of dynasty warriors for many years.

You should check out the newer videos Canew... They've scrapped that version. The game is now set to be a cooperative brawler RPG.

I must respectfully disagree with you Kelter Skelter, I understand your points, but us PC gamers want some bolter based fun too. :)
The PC platform is where the majority of 40k games lie, such as the Dawn of War series, yes they would have to sell more units, but by making it available to another platform, it opens up another customer base, meaning more copies can be sold.
The developers are avoiding a lot of potential sales if they skip the PC segment, though I don't mind if they take a while with the conversion and release it later than other ports, just as long as it's done well.

Oh god, another PC vs Console debate. I've never really seen where all the animosity has come from, I just prefer the added flexibility of mouse, keyboard, and graphics options. Recently, the PC hate has become increasingly hard to ignore. Mpdscott's post pretty much hit the proverbial nail on its head.
Saying you won't sign this petition because you want a "better game on consoles" is selfish. We're all gamers, we all love Warhammer, so thank you for helping restrict our access to a Warhammer game.
I honestly don't see how making a game for both console + PC makes it more likely to be "mediocre". Then again, I'm not a game developer, but I'm pretty sure you aren't either.
If THQ only decide to release this only on consoles, then good on them for ignoring the market that made them successful in the first place. Holding hands with Activision must be fun.

PC gamer here.
WIll be buying a 360 round christmas. For playing some of their cooler games, namely the racing games. I'll leave my competitive gaming to the PC.
Recently bought the new COD.
It has a few issues which will hopefully soon be resolved. Why do I prefer PC games?
- I have an up to date PC that can run the games
- Better graphics
- Faster reactions
On pc I can turn on the spot. I can dart my aimer from one side to another. Playing similar game on Xbox feels sluggish.
I'll likely get this on 360 rather than PC as it seems more of a brawler action type game than anything competitive.
However, I've signed the petition. People will PCs should not be left out.
Are you gonna sign this petition? If you're not, then fine. I don't see why you'd go out of your way to make a selfish post about how you're deliberately not voting in the hope that it DOESN'T come out on PC.

Try going into options, and turning controller sensitivity to max. That will let you turn and aim even faster than on PC! but don't turn it too high or you'll get dizzy! XD

A controller will never offer the precision of a mouse.

A controller will never offer the precision of a mouse.
Ain't that the truth.
For that matter, if I REALLY want to, I can buy a generic controller that looks and feels pretty darned close to the XBox/Playstation-style controller, probably for under $20 US, and hook it up to the PC via USB (or even wireless with Bluetooth), and from there, all I have to do is map the controls manually. In some ways, this is BETTER than the console, as not every console action game out there has fully customizable, remappable controls. Therefore, pretty much any console game made available for PC will probably play almost exactly the same on the PC as it does on the console. By contrast, I'd like to see somebody port Dawn of War onto the XBox. Good luck with that.
I don't HATE consoles per se, but I find them to be a colossal waste of money, and representative of the corporate trends that are slowly killing the gaming industry. In a five-year period, I could easily go through two generations of my favorite console (I grew up with an Atari 2600, NES, Super Nintendo, and a Sega) and by today's prices, be out the better part of $1,000, and that's BEFORE I buy any games! By contrast, I can upgrade my PC on my own terms, when I want to, and arguably make a $500 build last five years without needing to replace half the parts. I also think consoles are, by definition, limited to only a game that can be shoehorned into their proprietary input devices, whereas a PC is arguably much more flexible (see above).
I also have a problem with a generation of gamers who look at me with disdain when I tell them I'd rather play on my PC, as though there's something wrong with me, like I don't "get it." The console developers listen to those punks, which is why some truly great games come out, and I'm left out because they're "only for the XBox360" because some console manufacturer is forcing me to play their way. I don't like that one bit.

Why do you think Dawn of war was only on the PC?
Because it was Made for the PC, in the same way that this game has been developed from the start as a console game, the PC version will likely slow down the release and be an adapted version of the console game(aka. not as good)

Dawn of War was released on PC for a good reason - due to the type of game it was - RTS - it would only be sensible to release it on PC. How on earth do you play RTS on consoles?

Right, and RTS-style games are made for PCs, not for consoles. However, RPGs and FPS games work well on both platforms (heck, they were INVENTED on PCs!), so if you CAN do it well on both, you SHOULD. This way, EVERYBODY gets to play, not just the elite few who spent a car payment or more on a box that will be obselete within 5 years, unlike my PC.
EDIT: But then, this is a digression. Take it to PM if you want to go further, or start a new thread. We're getting too off-topic here. Apologies to the OP.

All I remember is having to put in an your name and an e-mail address.
And it tries to sign you up to twitter while you're at it. You don't need to do that bit, as far as I can tell.
One of the links in the first post goes to the petition page, though I presume you've managed to get that far... :P
