I have a little question regarding the defiler:

what are the min. requirements if i decide to model my own? (or out of existing defiler and other parts)..

just to be clear, i mean size wise (hight, width and depth)

I plan on having my defiler a bit more tzeentchi, donīt know exactly how yet.
one idea is having him slightly hovering in a like the tombspider/destroyerbody..

other ideas are also very welcome

The body of the standard defiler is, iirc, about 4" long, 2" wide and somewhere between those tall. The legs are about 4" long each, can't remember how many of them there are though (just going by what I remember of my opponents models)

I would say that the model would need to have approximately a 6x6" footprint, be about 4" tall, have legs (walker) and WYSIWYG on the weapons. If you are going to make him hover, I would hand-make a base with the same radius a normal defiler would cover.

I think a mini-pyramid (1/2 size of monolith) with legs would make an interesting sorceress defiler. Can even picture the all-seeing eye done to look like it is floating above the base of the pyramid.

Torden's about right. It's tough to measure a Defiler. Where do you measure from? The 'foot'? The leg armor? All the way to the pincers?

But in any case, it's about 4.5x6x6.

A lot of people do upright Defilers, and lots of strange things, though, so you probably don't have to fit right in with that. Just stay away from the marine-sized Defiler. That'd be a bit unfair.

thanks for the answers..

And i really like the pyramid idea.. maybe some sort of "turtle" or something would be cool,
but i gonna have a CC defiler so Iīm not sure if that model idea would fit the picture behind.

Still gonna draw a little and if/when i start i will let you know :)

Just remember that the legs on the defiler do count as the hull, so should be factored into the size

I'm remodeling my Defilers as slightly jazzed up Dreadnoughts (on Dread bases) with the Battle Cannon sticking out of hull.
I basically just got sick of them breaking, or the paint getting chipped every time I transport them.

@Psyan:
I that allowed?
I mean since a dreadnought is much smaller then the defiler...

I thought proxies or counts as have to be same size as the unit they represent.
