My fellow Thanes,
This weekend my brave warriors are marching to participate in a Grand Tournament, full of hairless Elves and Daemon-Worshiping Warriors. They haven't seen a Grand Tournament before, and haven't swung their weapons for along time, but Dwarven Steel is still Dwarven Steel! So, my Kin, pray to Grimnir to lend my warriors aid, so that they can avenge many grudges! Alone we are rocks, united we stand with the strength of the Mountain!
In other words, I'll be participating in a Tournament this whole weekend, so wish me luck and stuff ;) (50 participants, 15+ are Elves, bring them on!:soldier:)

Good luck, especially against all those Daemons, vampires and dark elves...

Wow, usually you get like 33% of them. I bet there's a bucketload of Dark Elves then ;)
Hopefully the fact that there's no daemons means that aren't too many cheesy lists you stand a good chance!
You're taking a Thorek gunline, right?

Wut..?
No Daemons?
None at all?
O dear Grimnir, you may actually have a good chance to win a couple of rounds :D
I played against a tourney - all Khorne army last week in the store. Nastyyyy 0.o I blew away 1 bloodletter unit before they arrived at my line and nearly everything autobroke.
But no Daemons?! The world's gone mad!
Teach those pansy elves a lesson, and show them their cut off pointy ears before they die! We've got the Phoenixcrown in the vault of Karaz-a-Karak for a reason!

Nope, no Lords, it was a 1999pts tourney.
I failed miserably, my machinery was misfiring all the time (except the Canon, the Dice Gods probably sneak-peeked at my list and saw Rune of Forging, and decided not to bother with him, and to transfer his would-be Misfires to my trusty (not any more) Organ Gun), hits on 3+ were obviously not good enough, 2 inches made me lose one and draw another game (yes, two measly inches, two times), and my opponents had amazing luck with their saves (eg. stone thrower fired right in the middle of a unit of Phoenix Guard, he had to make 14 saves on 4+ (ward save) and he made 12 of them...only two died...that was just too much...
The only game I reeeeeeeeally enjoyed was the last one (the draw) agains a close combat dwarf, so it was a good old fashioned beat-each-other-to-death-and-grab-a-beer-afterwords fight XD And since we are a proud race, our generals fought each other in a challenge :) (they had an almost identical build and did absolutely nothing to each other XD)
The heroes of that game were my canon crew and his Gyrocopter, who fought each-other for about 3-4 turns and did nothing (except he manged to kill one crewman after two rounds)! :soldier:
All in all, it was a fun experience, I played against nice people (mostly because I was losing and all the nice people were at the bottom and the munchkins were at the top), did okay (in other words, didn't score last place) since I wasn't playing for a couple of years, and our Army Book is getting old :)
The one thing that will not stop to amaze/shock me is that the newer armies can give extra weapons to their BSBs...it's not physically possible (you cant carry a 15-20foot banner in one hand and wield a great weapon in the other), and I think that is the lamest rule I EVER saw in a game...:curse:

Awww tough luck, m8  Tons of strange, funny, weird things occour in this cruel world.
You're meant to say that 14 elves did not pass the wound roll? :O Sounds to me like both of you were quite lucky.
Good luck next time and btw, our army book aint that old. Just for the record :)

14? Wow, that could've been a great splatter! Elf players don't apreciate how lucky they are with their minimal saves, while we tend to fail our higher ones in eaqual measure.
Pantsy elf mgic shouldn't be able to protect them from a big rock falling from the sky! phe!
And yeh, weird of the BSB's, we'll get it too when dwarfs get updated. Really weird and lame actually that elfs can carry a standard and their weapons, and a tough muscular dwarf only the banner.
