This is a post meant to contain some info about wood elves many people already know of. It is inteded as an information source for players who would otherwise ask "what happened to wood elves"?
So here we go:
- Ogre Kingdoms has pushed back Wood elves release date to somewhere around 2007.
- It will be possible to field an army containing no elves whatsoever.
- This will be possible due to the introduction fo new units such as forest spirits, and the expanding of old units like dryads.
- Having looked at some of the concept sketches, I can safely say that they will be awesome once they arrive. the theme is much, much, more "earthy" than before. Elemntal, rawer and more "natural" and "wild". Rather than elves in flowery dresses running around in the woods.
- Centaurs will NOT feature as a new unit or wood elves.
- Wood elf archer units will most probably have a ninimum unit size of 10+ (boo, hiss)

And that's all i can think of at the moment, if anyone thinks of anything else, please post it.

...and they'll be variant lists for other races to use the new and improved bestiary. Forest goblins on Spiders?

They'll be released on the second half of 2005. Not 2007.

The rumour i heard was that there will be a lot more magic bows (possibly arrows too) in order to make the Wood Elf magic items more themed.

Yes, silly me. I'm just prepared thats all, the untill now unheard of "giant kingdoms", "Monster Zoo", and "Dragon Mountain" army books (+models etc.) will push wood elves and DOW back untill at least 2007. ;)

Dogma: NO! Forest goblins will sadly never return, and the WE Amry book will not include other races' variant lists.
Sorry to burst you bubble.

I've heard the rumour about bows and arrows too, but since it is still just a rumour I haven't posted it.

If I ever have a WE lord I'll have him on foot, with the master sword, hylian shield, hookshot, fairy bow with ice, fire, and light arrows, and a bag of bombs. Not to mention a couple of fairies.

Don't forget that the "Horse Menagerie" Army Book also takes priority over Wood Elves.

I think 'Fairy Kingdoms' has also been bumped in front of the WE release... oh wait, that IS the WE army, my bad. I've also heard that the code name will be the "Tree-hugging hippies project", very hash-hash... err, I mean hush-hush! :D
