Have anyone else experienced the problem of popping up My Assistant on the front page, before you go to the forum, it just pops up a small window(MA size), but with the main LO page on it... kinda annoying as I have to first click the forum, then MA, then it pops up normally...

I'm using firefox and I just did a test and it seem to work fine here. Are you using the Konquerer browser ?
