Can anybody tell me if i'll still be able to play with whatever tyranids stuff i get or have after christmas(after the new codex comes out). Because if so that kinda just ruins everything for me making me like not to be able to play at all well except with my friends because i dont have enough money to get it all again. Anybody here any rumors, or facts that they know can help me out.

Oh sorry tyranids codex if anybody was stupid enough not to relize it

well, as far as models go, they BETTER NOT release new nid models...they don't need a new codex, they definitely don't need new models.

As far as your army list goes, yeah, it'll probably change, but you'll be fine for the most part i'ma thinkin...

The rumormill is pretty consistent that what changes will happen exactly ruleswise with Tyrannids isn't clear yet. There's talk of subtly changing the Carnifex rules so that they are 0-1 however you can buy 3 per force org chart selection. Basically to make them more like Zoanthropes and Biovores. There's also rumors of changing the custom hive fleet rules, and making the Old One Eye Regeneration ability something that non-special tyrannids can take.

As for models, GW has very rarely made old models unplayable with codex revisions. So your old models should be quite acceptable in the new rules. Rumor has it that there will be new carnifexi and Hive Tyrants (possibly in plastic) as well as redone raveners and lictors that don't look so rediculous.

Every time GW releases a new codex it is accompanied by new models- there's not much point in complaining about this. We'll all get our minis in due time.

just because your models aren't the new type doesn't matter I use a squad of old plague marines
ahh so funny ^_^

it doesnt matter what edition the model is, and I sue plenty of OOP miniatures, like the old carnifex (so much better than the new ones... sigh...) and I dont think GW is changing the tyranid models that much anyway...

My local GW manager says that the new models (he's seen previews) are quote "bigger and scarier". Apparently the larger models are getting a make over with more spikes and tougher looking armour. :hmm:

He told me to hold off buying genestealers (new boxed set coming out soon) and any of the bigger models (Carnifexe's etc?).
