It is certainly interesting however its been directly contradicted by Index Astates fluff such as the fact the Death Guard were claimed by Nurgle before the Siege.

None the less I wonder if any Renegades have convinced themselves it is true

it's an interesting read and i remember this being posted in the fluff section awhile ago. however theres just somethings like Sanguinius that irrifutable, everyone respects him even the traitor legions for being just so damn hardcore.

If you wanna discuss something relevant, what was Lion El' Johnson doing during the horus heresy. Was he really fighting luther or was he waiting to see who won?

It certainly is an interesting theory, all the current fluff is written from the perspective of the victors and it's not like very many Space Marines or anyone else survive from that era, all that is left is the Golden Toilet and iffy data files.

There actually is a chance that this is what happened and and the Traitor Legions were taken by Chaos after they retreated into the Eye of Terror. It would certainly make for one heck of a story.

El'Johnson was fighting Luthor, and this story makes both sides evil, disapointing all the players out there, not very good for GW bussiness

well, as Carcaroth said, everyone respect sanguinius for being a mad b*stard, even the traitor legions (especially the world eaters), so its doubtful he was an insidious little bugger.

history may be written by the winners...dosent mean its wrong though does it?

Hell i beleave it. Think the black leigion doesn't even particulally like to worship the choas gods they only want thier gifts, they switch from one god to another every other day and Teezentch were loyal to the emporer until they were banshed for trying to warn him of the comming attacks from the traitor leigions  That's the reason why the spell was cast; to make sure they didn't suffer from the chaos mutations. As for the treachery comming from soo deep within the imperium kinda far fetched but then again with all the crule/greedy inqusitors the emporer has "cleanseing" his Imperium then it could be possible.

The book angels of darkness by Gav Thorpe made some interesting points of what was going on during the Horus Heresay and where the dark angels may have been. Although the most interesting book written regarding background fluff is now Lord of the night by Simon Spurrier as it make some interesting claims about the emperor and what he was doing just before the heresay and why Night Haunter betrayed the emperor (short awnser the emperor betrayed him first).

well, the inquisition didnt appear until after they heresy. And luthor was johnson's second in command...who may actually have been loyal, or he may not have been. The simple answer is though, why would the emperor rule humanity, and create loyal sons, he HE was to betray THEM...he wouldn't...chaos is heresy, and all of the traitor legions have something to do with chaos...hence heretics. Thus whether what we hear is the whole truth or no, it is pretty accurate id say. So that good read is nothing more than just that...a good read.
