hey all, i just read somethings on a site called inisfail.com. i read about a race called the suquats(dwarves) and the Slann, set in the 40k universe! is this just somebody's fantasy, or is GW planning to release these races? i know they base 40k on the warhammer world, and we are missing dwarves and lizardmen so...what do you think?

The Sqauts where released in the rouge trader days and the 2nd edition, as an attempt to make space dwarves, but they where dropped on the 3rd addition and beyond because they where just...wierd, drunkan and silly. The Sqauts may have been reincarnated as the Demiurg, who have apeared in battle fleet gothic and seem to have a very space-dwarvy feel about them. If they are going to make an apearance in 40k, they seem to be alot better concieved than that Sqauts, but they will probably just be a merc unit or chapter aproved, and not a full army. Not in the neer future anyway.
BFG Demiurg ships, there was also some concept art of what they looked like, it was very dwarfey, but i cant find it anymore:

The Slann wont come out for 40k anytime soon, there where some models made way back in the RT or 2nd eddition days, i think even befor i was born, but the fluff on them makes them very unlikely candidates for an army. Althou it would be one hell of a shock for GW to spring on us, with the increasing role the Necrons are playing in the game, GW may, in the distant future, bring the favoured frogmen of the oldones in as an army to kick some Necron behind, but thats the only way i could see them comming into 40k in a fluffy way. The fluff on the Slann has slowely faded to meer mentions and what we do know is that the Slann prefere to hide away from the crap storm that the universe has become. If there just hiding or re-arming, the fluff could go eather way.
Its unlikely we will see them as seperate armys, but you never know, for GW is fickle and sometimes totaly unintelegable. After all, who was expecting the Tau? then BAM, there they where, in all there "migets with railguns" glory.
