HELP!!!!!! Shas'o Tau Dev'n Kauyon July 24th, 2005, 19:35 Heya!
I don't know too much about the Kroot mercs, but I'll do what I can!
I like it, seems like you are shooting for some CC. If that's the case, I suggest soem Kroot hounds as they are better than regular carnivores for this and inflict wounds after a retreat.
Also, the wings on the master shaper are nice but what for? He doesn't have another squad with a similer speed to run with. He'll just kinda be really fast with no where to go!
*Shrug,
O'Dev'n Bruiser117 July 26th, 2005, 03:05 What does the ork hybrid mean? I was just wondering as I play orks. Shas'o Tau Dev'n Kauyon July 26th, 2005, 03:13 Check out the Kroot Merc Article list, then look for the GW Kroot Merc Faq.
Orc Hybrid is a trait Kroot Mercs may select. It makes them better in HtH and ups their Toughness as well I think...
K, bye bye now,
O'Dev'n Wolf_Pack July 28th, 2005, 01:54 the master shaper could use an eviscerator, is wings will make him a great tank hunter at a cheap cost.
3 krootox is all you need really, but if you feel safer with 4, it's up to you. I would give thier shaper a power weapon and flamer, they are also great in combat, the S6 is very neat.
you could always add a kroot hound squad, they are the best unit in the army, but are quite expensive $ wise.
the snipers are a bargain, they would amke a fine addition to the army. Arakiaz July 29th, 2005, 01:31 Yeah I would skip a krotox actually I don't like them they make kroots loosing their infiltrating ability, and get some snipers you'll like them and power weapon is IMO a must so are an evistator, you will need it for AV penetration
and yes ork hybrid give kroot one higher Toughness (4 now)
I like your choices of totems they are nice, but I see that you haven't bought minor psychic abilities for your Master Shaper, you might wanna consider that, perhaps some more flamewrs on your infiltrators could get to good use??? but it might just be me, but I like the idea of infiltrating flamers warrior poet July 30th, 2005, 11:20 Um.... Hound sound good, but they are expenive in $$ over here. I would want to get some psychic powers but don't have the rules for them. Where can you find them??? I'll do a revised list soon. Wolf_Pack July 30th, 2005, 12:21 they are in the chapter approuved just a bit farther in than the kroot army list. And you DO need your opponent's concent, and they aren't very good as they are random and very expensive. Actually, they don't change anything but the Toughness. ;) No bonuses in CC..
Anyways, not sure what everyone else has said, but you shouldn't tool your Master Shaper with a P. Weapon. Why? Simple. Merc's lack anti-tank. Even with Eviscerators. Master Shapers + Shaper Council w/ Meltaguns = best bet vs. tank. Give 'em wings, have a Vulture squad chill with them to cover, and go hunt some tanks. Or, Eviscerators, but I've always preferred a Meltagun. Arakiaz July 30th, 2005, 18:17 I prefere a shapers council aswell, make them winged and arm them with meltas, like nemesis says it is the best pick for anti-armour and winged makes them better at the job | |
