Particularly in the Off Topic Section there seem to be tons of threads invisible. In total, including all subforums, i can't see more than like 20 threads - there should be more than 1000.

Some sub-forums have multiple pages of threads. I do believe the forum was recently moved, so some may've been lost then. It could be the pruning - have you used the thing at the bottom of the page: "Show threads from.. Last week, Last Month, Last 90days" etc.
That's what I use if I'm looking for something.

User CP --> Edit Options --> 2/3 down the page "Default Thread Age Cut Off" --> Change from "Use forum default" to "Show all threads"

That will make the change perminant

Just wondering though: Then forum default for thread cutoff is one day?

The software default is 1 day. Now we can change the default cut off (which we have done on some forums) but others seem to have slipped through the net.
