I am currently working on a thunderhawk gunship and, for the window on the ****pit, I've decided to add tinted glass. I am using Thick clear plastis, the kind you usualy find on walkmen, I wonder, is there any way to make this look tinted?

i know my local hobbystore sells thin plastic sheets is a varaity of colors. i would try to glue a piece against a sturdier supprt, but at the inside. i doubt using inkts or very watered paint would give a decend effect without spots or stipes. or at least not without several attempts.
There is an article about a mission on the GW-website which uses a sort of painted plastic cube as a mission objective. the buildinginstuctions used are there also.
unfortunatly i don't find it immidiatly.

a light mist of black or brown spraypaint from a distance could give that tinted/smoked look.

The amber prison of Tikgrix: here (http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/witchhunters/gaming/amberprison/cube.htm).
They use transparent airbrush colours.

Pactra and Tamiya make translucent spray tint for RC car bodies. If you can't find clear plastic already tinted, these are you best bet.

yeah Tamiya sells "clear" colors, maybe they'd work better. I don't think spraying a normal paint from a distance would help, it'd just be dotty, like you stippled it. And that isn't tinted.

I tried a watered down black and i kinda worked, it's streaky near the edges but in the middle it's alright.
