Though someone might be interested in some pics of a very... unusual... Ogre army I'm working on. It doesn't play very well, but I like them all the same.

Very unusual indeed m'lad. Tell me what rules you made for your cyclops and how they play? You got me interested now and I have to know. By the way, great conversions they look amazing.

This army began with a Death Legion spawn conversion made with Ogre bodies. Since I'm a fan of the one-horn and one-eye theme with Nurgle, I ended up creating an eye in the ogre neck stump.

I really liked the freakish, glaring look, so I translated that to this whole army. But ogres eat a lot, and so how would they feed? Well, what better than a fleshy, fanged maw that opens right into the ogre's stomach?!

This army is pretty much done. I just need to take pics of the Yhetees and do the Hunter.

Awesome, awesome army. I love it! It's probably the most creative thing I've seed done with the Ogres (much to my own dismay). I can't believe you're selling it, though; it's truly unique. But then again, that is your business.

I like the oddity of this army. It is unique and has several interesting qualities to it. One of the things I like best is the random use of trophies scattered onto bases, hanging from banners, etc. I also like the body parts sticking out of the gut maws.

As for the painting - They appear too glossy and look to have been "dipped" leaving dark areas where highlights should be. It looks like in areas these spots were highlighted but the overall effect - still looks off. I would definitely hit you figures with a dead flat finish to get rod of the glare. I personally use Testor's Dullcote (I should be paid royalties everytime I mention them! ;) ) I do like some of the color shades you have achieved for the various tongues emerging from the bellies - some of them look very realistic.

The eyes look like they weren't put to their full potential. They are big enough that you could have spent more time adding the iris, blood vessels, etc. As it stands they look rather cartoonish. This could be intentional so take this comment with a grain of salt.

I think your conversions are interesting and unique and add a definite flavor to these figures.

As I mentioned in your other post - I think you should really look at how you are taking your pictures. I would recommend slightly larger pictures rather than cropping them at wierd locations - cutting off heads, arms, etc. It wouldn't be much of a problem if you had a few shots of the figure as a whole and then cropped in a zoom shot of a specific detail you wanted us to see - but it seems that as a whole most figures are cropped in such a manner. Also some color correction would definitely benefit the models.

Again an interesting idea executed well that should look good on the gaming table!

Cheers,

-Mike

Absolutely shocking! It's sick and twisted...I love it! IMO all the really good conversions have maximum visual change with very little conversion. In this case it's a ready-made eyesocket and mouth...no drilling, no cutting, no jiggery-pokery just some greenstuff & items from the bitz box. Oh yeah, and they're well painted too! BIG Wookie cheer to bluetablepainting...Thanks for sharing!

Please don't get treatment.
I agree with slorak about the tecnicalities (detailing etc) and everybody that says your army is great (OK in a sick and twisted way) but more then anything else it's funny.
Watching conversions rarerly makes me laugh like if I seen an underwaterliving blueork.

It's definitely an interesting army. More Chaos-ish than Ogre-ish if you ask me, but still wonderful to look at.

I don't really dig the eyeballs. They are a bit bug eyed and a little bit plain for me, but I can tell that you put a lot of work into each conversion so I have to give you mad props. I would just make the eyeballs look a little more.... ummmm, sinister if I were you. They are a bit "bug eyed" as it is.

Overall, though, I would buy that army if I had the money. It's a really cool theme. Keep up the good work.

good idea for an army, grotesque and stylish at the same time...
