View Full Version : Rep power Xuy September 10th, 2005, 22:08 Hey mods and admins! I was just thinking about whether it would be possible to view how much rep you can give and take on your control panel because I'm really confused about how its worked out. I would be really helpful if we all can so people don't bother to give out neutral rep which is quite annoying.
Thanks a lot
Xuy Knape97 September 11th, 2005, 00:40 I dont see how neutral rep is "annoying", its still someone giving you credit for a post, you just dont get a material benift. Perhaps your being too obsessed with getting a "reward" rather than being happy that somone liked your post.
As to displaying rep power, we did for a while a couple of months back, but a lot of members became confused about it.
Also, I dont think it really matters what your rep power is. Either your giving good rep or bad rep, you can't choose how much rep to give, so it makes no difference if you know how much your power is. Pierced53 September 11th, 2005, 12:52 I agree with Knape. Btw, how do you give Neutral Rep'? I can only 'Approve' or 'Disaprove' and add a comment, when giving rep'. Knape97 September 11th, 2005, 17:25 Neutral rep is given when a member with "0" reputation power gives you good or bad rep. Pierced53 September 11th, 2005, 19:39 Ok. :) Thanks Knape. Xuy September 11th, 2005, 23:01 Ok whatever you say oh great one. :D:p darkreever September 11th, 2005, 23:43 Ok whatever you say oh great one.
Don't lie to the staff :p
Knape is far from "the great one." Though even I admit he isn't to far off from being great... Xuy September 12th, 2005, 22:41 So Blackhat could you tell me what my rep power is because i'm not sure how to work it out.
Tanks
Xuy darkreever September 13th, 2005, 00:50 Click the icon to give yourself rep, it tells you how much you have instead of the aprove/disaprove option... Zanzibar September 13th, 2005, 05:18 Alright, unless this has been changed or I'm simply mistaken (highly probable), your modifier starts at 0 (when you have 10 rep. points) and increases to +1 once you get 11 or more rep. points. It increases furthur as follows:
+1 for every 100 rep. points you have
+1 for every 250 posts you've made
+1 for every 365 days you've been a member
So, Xuy, you have +1 because you've got more than 10 rep. points but you haven't yet reached any of the bars I've just mentioned. I, on the other hand, have +3 (+1 for having more than 10 rep. points, +1 for having more than 250 posts, and +1 for having more than 100 rep. points).
If I am wrong, someone correct me? darkreever September 13th, 2005, 05:52 Well NOW your technicaly wrong. After my last action Xuy has a bit of rep power now... Zanzibar September 13th, 2005, 06:09 Actually, he's still at +1 ;). Once he has two squares ("Scored his first century"), he'll go up to +2. darkreever September 13th, 2005, 07:34 Hey can someone make a list of all the different levels of rep? I'm really interested in finding out what it says the further your rep is increased... Zanzibar September 13th, 2005, 07:36 Right here (http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35362&highlight=reputation) (check the most recent posts), though it gets changed all the time. Xuy September 13th, 2005, 21:16 Thanks a lot everyone! You all been helpful. :) Xuy October 3rd, 2005, 21:47 Do you still get 1 rep power for having more than 10 rep points? Zanzibar October 5th, 2005, 19:35 Surely you do. Xuy October 5th, 2005, 23:40 I don't think so because I have more than 10 and I seem to be giving neutral rep...:S Zanzibar October 5th, 2005, 23:42 Odd. Must have been changed, but that would mean that you wouldn't get a +1 modifier until:
A) You get 100 rep. points.
B) You make 250 posts.
C) You're a member for 365 days.
Seems unfair. Xuy October 6th, 2005, 17:37 All will be clear once a mod sees this thread. | |
