I saw a tip (it might even have been in the GW book) to thin paint with inks rather than water when possible... I've been finding this works really well with black ink/chaos black and red ink + blood red or dark red (what ever it's called... scab red?)

But I was wondering... is there such a thing as white ink? I looked at a couple online places like the Warstore, and I found a coompany called Wonder Wash that makes a lot of inks, but not white.

White seems like it would be usefull for mixing skin tones, and diluting... well, white paint.

I think I saw some Dr. Martins inks (watercolor, I think) at my local art shoop, but I'm not sure if it's the same thing.

Anyone ever try white ink?

Just thin white paint with water, they don't make white ink, it's useless. ^_^

Windsor and Newton makes a white ink. I picked some up at a Michaels craft store. It was part of a set including gold and silver inks.

Slorak, do you use white ink though?
the only reason id use is to thin white paint, for the glossy look

I am sure you could thin your white paint with it. I don't really use it that much. Mostly to smooth the transition in layers when painting large areas of white. It is worth looking into as it isn't that expensive.

white ink is super useful -- i use it to make pastel inks, tone down and customize greys, thin white, glazes, etc.

You can even write with it.
