7th edition warhammer is out now, which means the following:

Wizards running around on their own are targetable by shooting, so watch out for that. They could hide with the duellists.

The paymaster should have at least a barded steed, so he is a little more armored. Otherwise he dies too easy. And then your whole army takes a panic check.

Units must have ranks of 5 to get rank bonuses, so your 8 knights are a wierd number.

The wolfboys are probably not very useful, especially for their cost. I'd stick with normal fast-cav.

for 90 points your duelists could have pistols, which means S4 shots. Nasty in some circumstances.

You have lots of stubborn, so you could march up the giant, the maneaters, and the paymasters unit to catch opposing enemies, and then countercharge with everything else. In which case I might replace the halflings and hob-goblins with more knights or ogres or some speedy countercharging unit with decent strength.

Good luck!

I think you can get a small unit of fast cav for 55 points, and if you can scrape out 10 more points for a musician then they will be able to rally.

but since you already have fast cav (wolves), you might consider a completely sacrificial unit of duellists (or a very modestly equipped one). Or add a couple knights or an ogre or something...

Oglah khan and his wolf boys are quite expensive - you could have another unit of heavy cav and a unit of light cav for the same points. But he does have that funky extra pursuit rule

60 points gives you 3 knights - and do you really need a musician in an unranked unit?
But if you lose the halflings, you'll only have the xbowmen (plus a handful of duellists)
for the missile phase.

Not sure about such a large unit of bodyguard ... but it is your main infantry unit, so
I guess that's ok.

One thing Kooshlord, mounted musicians are 15 points (!) For the same cost you can
equip your 5 light cav with spears & shields ... and when I roll 12 to rally, it really doesn't
matter whether I've got a musician or not :)

Cheers,

I'm trying to perfect my new DoW army, so I've got most of the costs memorized!
15 points is just too expensive - especially considering that a musician for the
far superior DE Dark Riders is only 7 points

erm... well, if you think the light cav are cheap enough to just throw away, then that is fine. They are a core choice, and you can field them naked for just over 50 points, so they aren't horribly expensive.

I usually field mine with spear and shield, and slap a musician on for good measure. At that point they are expensive enough that giving them a musician to give them a chance to recover seems wise.

If I was treating them disposably, then I'd probably go without musician. But duellists are better for throwaway troops, IMO, cause you can field them for <50 points.

erm i downloaded the DoW army list from the GW website, but it didn't say anything about command groups:(. i guessed most of the FC costs:wacko:.

did it say anything in your army lists?

It's on page 4 of the 1st Dogs of War download (the one without the RoR),
top of the 2nd column under "Champions Musicians and Standard bearers".
The cost is the same for all infantry units (so an xbow champion cost the same
as an Ogre champion!) and listed before any of the individual units.
Cavalry are similar but more expensive ...

Hope this helps,

Spon

you may want to check your OK book again, I think some of your point values may be off for the ogres and maneaters.

Can you put your paymaster on a horse and still keep him with the bodyguard?
