Gotta wonder, whats up with GW lately and static poses for some of their models? Those captains, the chappies a while back, that new librarian..

Well... being in the career I happen to be in; I for one know that static posses are condusive to hitting your targets well. Furthermore, a smart commander will stay a) not in the rear and b) definitely not in the front. So, I think the posses for the new commander and libby are appropriate. Just me though. Anyway, this is supposed to be a shooty army, right? I think, the running legs insinuate a fast assault type unit, which pistols would be the tool for the job. Just my thoughts on on the new posses.

All I have to say is, I wish I hadn't already made my army Ultramarine. Those guys are spectacular, and those robes are to die for.

Huzzah for Robes! I love them, they're so DA'ish it's untrue and have been cruely neglected to date.

The robed veterans are very nice models, however I dont like Veterans or DA having them. I can see Golden Daemon entries using them doing very well.

Plastic Devs? with robes too! sweet. A small part of my mind says 'robes mean DA only hehehe' other chapters using them with robes would look dodgy. As for the Plasma Cannon well, you could put your head in there, but I like it.

Comand Squad with robes? meh i'm unfussed all the DA HQ's are a dire letdown so I dont think they'll see much use with me.

I dont like the Librarian, hopefully a nice Terminator one will be forthcoming, Termie characters can stand to look a little less mobile.

Last but not least, the Ravenwing. These guys knock the old ones for 6. Robed Sgt, decals on the bike, feather sticks for all and not just the Sgt. Is that a mixed DW squad I espy in the foreground?

i would be happy, but you dont have to be psychic to predict yet anouther swam of marine players, i think its bad news. It not like we have a lack of marine players and marine books:x

Yes. I really like these and they are incredibly tempting, but no! I won't do it! GW won't turn me into a marine player!

Okay I know I'll give in at some point, it's just how long I can last before buying some, these minis are really nice.

Well, the Templars didn't need a codex. But the old major chapters, the Angels of Death (DA and BA) and the Space Wolves (Ultras to actually, but they have a 'dex), have had codicies since 2nd edition so they deserve that now to.

Thanks for giving Warseer the credit but they originally came from GW_Fanworld.

I'm just loving the whole lot. If most of those guys are plastics, I can see myself having some interesting robed marines in the near(ish) future. I have never been too clear on the purpose of a power armoured guy wearing robes outside hes power armour, but heck, who needs a reason for those models?

The Librarian is horrible. Seen better converted by a 3 year old.

Rest is pretty good. I've decide to do them, except not all in robes (first not that big of a fan and I don't feel that robes in combat is all to smart of an idea). On top of that, mixing it up is good, some in robes-some not.

Yea, I'm digging most of these new models. Just not the libby, he is pretty lame. I just made a conversion that is much better.
I do like the new plastic robes though. More dynamic then the old metal ones. Keep in mind though, only the Vets and HQ are supposed to have the robes, not all marines in DA. Basically members of the Deathwing would have them, to show they were members of the Deathwing.

I don't really play ISM. Are they normally not allowed to mixe assault termi weapons with shooty termi weapon? If so, that kind of makes Deathwing a bit unique and more modular, especially since you can only have 5 in a unit.

I think the DA needed a new model range since 2nd ed. The deathwing terminators were very similar to normal ones, the space marines were exactly the same (unless you wanted a complete metal army) and the ravenwing were the same as normal landspeeders. This range now makes it possible to have a truly DA army, with lots of DA models. Plus the terminator standard is Azreal's old one isnt it?
