View Full Version : Nemesis War

There seems to be a lot of speculation at the moment regarding the next 2007 campaign which is apparently called the Nemesis War.
This was posted on Warseer by Dosadi.

So along with some info about Dark Angels and Vampire Counts, I got some good info about the summer campaign.
Apparently the rumour about not advancing the timeline was false. The Nemesis War will have a major impact on the Warhammer World.
It is set in the south (Border Princes, Badlands) and centres around a crown made by Alrik the Mad (not sure if the name is spelt right). Apparently this crown is "one ring" in level of power and Alrik hid it away, knowing that he has made something so powerful that nobody should ever have it. So of course everyone wants it.
I've been told that the results of this campaign will advance the storyline more than any other in the past. There will be a slew of new special characters for all armies to use during the campaign as these are the major players involved in the unt for the crown. I know that the dwarf character is a descendant of Alrik's who is trying to prevent anyone from finding the crown.
How any of this will tie in with WAR is not known at this time, but I'm sure GW wouldn't pass up the oppertunity to cross promote these two.
I should have more info soon.

give me one reason why the Wood Elves would want a magic crown.....i never really liked campaigns, the good guys always won. Especially with the storm of chaos, why could archeon Take that castle. Sooo many people voted for good, and the "unstoppable" chaos army got halted on a defended Brewery? Come on...
Anyways i like that they will release new models the doomseekers were really cool

some of the campagns are so stupid sometimes, for example the new city of death campagn, it was 100% sure that space marine would won the campaign...

Why would the tree huggers (I'm a chaos player so I can say this) want the crown.

1. Because some seer or the other has had a vision of death, destruction and bad things happening if the crown is found by anyone other than themselves. Because of this they march out to stop anyone else from getting hold of it and abusing it.

2. There are rumours of Wood Elves living in the Border Princes and with all the activity occuring in these forests they are rather incenced at all the armies trampling around on their turf.

3. Want the crown for themselves so they can go on a rampage of their own and show Archaon just how it is done. :shifty:

4. They are just plain bored. :)

wow, now can you explain me why my band of Lizardman would want a stupid crown, we already have the powerfull slanns, no need of a crown >.<

Now why would the lizardmen want the crown. HMMMMMMM :hmm: let me think.

1) Southland Slann have diciphered a prophecy telling of a great evil that should beset the world should the crown fall into the wrong hands. An evil that will prove to be a great setback to the great plan of the Old Ones. The crown must be attained at all costs to stop this.

2) The crown is too powerful an item for the younger races to wield. Best remove temptation.

3) The Slann are bored and fancy a challenge since Dark Elves and the Cult of Slaanesh proved to be complete walkovers.

the last two are awesome....:shifty: i could totally see my Wood Elves going mad with power and attacking all with a magical Dawrf Helm, just because they havent had a good scrap in a while. Not likely, but if i am the embodyment of my General, it will be done....:shifty: Sounds very familiar to Orcs......

It would certainly make things a lot more interesting I will give you that. And if anybody asks why you are slaughtering hapless innocents you can just say you are Wood Elves, you don't need to explain anything to anyone. ^_^

By Sigmar... all these *big* campaigns... they should really do something small like Medusa was. "One ring" level? That's kinda generic, huh?

Speaking of Medusa, is there anything going on for 40k?

EDIT: W007! 555th post!eleven!what?

Agreed. I assume you mean small in that it does not impact on the main timeline in a major way, sort of like a side story? I imagine this will not impact on the main story in a really major way though whoever does get the crown may be able to affect the story in a major way at a later point. :)

...

You followin' me?

Anyway, yeah, that's what I meant. No massive impact- enough for a motivation, but not like "Terra will be destroyed if Chaos wins"... sound familiar?

Yeah that sound about right for me as well. No doubt they will get to the whole Abaddon invading Terra at sometime in the somewhat near future, probably a year or so after the new Chaos codex comes out.
