Wow, they modeled the power fist, plasma guns, and all other wargear better then I could image GW was willing to do. Not a big fan of the new huge sword shoulder pads though

I would give my left leg for those vets. and I don't even play angels. that jetbike looks a bit like the imperial ships from BFG, though. but I think it's a bit risky to be bringing out an artifact like that to war. it should be parked on terra and the Dark angels should go about stealing eldar ones.

Is it just me, or does the "back banner" statue thing from the first pic look like it would make the perfect Dark Angel Chaplain Crozius?
They are looking like very nice models, although a couple of them seem to be just minor modifications of the current Commander box

Yeah it does look good for that, but I will hunt you down if you buy the DA army box and chop it up right away. You'll do that, and by the time i have any money everything will be sold out and chopped up :cry:

I suspect it's from a DA accessories sprue, not a metal model, so there's no reason to get all homocidal because someone turns it into a Crozius

I love the robes now that I have seen them close up. The terminator liby looks sweet, I might get one just to paint in general.

oKAY.couple of points to make.

1) my keyboards covered in slobber

2) the master of the ravenwing - he's an amazing example of a marine. if you look, he has an enormous torso, lots of gear, embellished grieves, and the cords that link his grieves to his feet are MASSIVE.

3) the jetbike has two twin linked bolters (or maybe thats a twin linked storm bolter) and a plasma cannon. be devastating to be shot at and then charged by this guy

4) isnt there a rumour that he can have a jetbike mounted bodyguard?

5) in the second pic of him, i think grand master azrael is standing behind him, with black armour and the helm of the lion

6) the HM team seem to have painted these models vastly better than other recent releases. anyone else agree?

Man, its a good thing they aren't coming out for a minute. I need to get some of my Eldar army on the table and playing before I sell my soul to the Unforgiven! My Deathwing army can get a foot off of the ground at the same time. I plan on having at least two 5-man DW Terminator squads in the normal army, regardless. I am a little vexed by the rumor that they will be restricted to one assault cannon per squad, though. That's total crap. Why would even more elite terminators than usual not be able to field such a great weapon? Oh well.

This is to counter balance their improved deep striking capabilities as they are able to get within striking distance of the enemy a lot sooner than normal terminators where they can get at side and potentially rear armour values.

Ah. I hadn't heard about their improved DS abilities. It might still suck for tournies, though. But one assault cannon is still better than nothing.

I have to save i am bit disappointed with the ravenwing attack force.

It's the same as any other Battleforce, IMO and it does give you everything you need to make a decent force - 2 Troops, 1 Fast Attack, 1 Heavy Support. It's rare thing when the majority of a Battleforce can actually be used in the construction of a solid army.

I think I've just found a new chapter to collect....and found several new figures to make conversions easier.
The librarian with the book(in hand):I tried to convert a techmarine like that(think of the consept sketches in WD:UK:298/9), but failed alot. This may make things easier for me. I like the terminator squad (command?)with banner, and after seeing 1 of the staff at GW White Rose's deathwing army techmarine, this makes me want ot convert a termi tech (even more). (I like techmarines alot). When I read the codex I'll see if I will actualy get them.

As for jetbikes: Want more? Simple. Play in a 40k time when there were hundreds of them( H.Heresy anyone?)

Overall the new minis look very good, I espically want to make the Master of the Ravenwing into my own chapter master, as I can justify their acquistion of Jetbikes as one of the few bikes the Eagles of Kai made before the forgeworld they were living on was lost to the warp.

From what I've heard, there will be new models for them, just like there were with Marneus, Lysander and Tigurius. The guy in the second picture actually looks like he might be Azrael himself with the Lion helm on. Pretty damn cool.

Nope, that model is a tribute/resculpt of the classic Dark Angels captain from 12t/2nd edition.

The two new special characters are the leader of the Deathwing and Ravenwing (they have names now).
