KU haydn February 3rd, 2007, 14:51 Those buildings look absolutly mad i cant wait to some of them awsome stuff. Stonehambey February 8th, 2007, 09:40 A jigsaw style gaming table!
That would be just perfect:D
Ciao
Stonehambey chemicalcaveman February 8th, 2007, 11:41 You know what, if those houses were kept at a reasonable price as around twenty to thirty euro, I could see quite a lot of people picking them up. You don't need a lot of scenery for a WFB game and if your involved in a club, between five or six people it would be great value.
I am all over that jigsaw gaming table though. One of those things that when you see you go............"Man, why didn't they think of that years ago............." Da Mighty Camel February 8th, 2007, 11:58 Yeah I thought that about the table to - but all my gaming friends thinks it's a GW rip-off (as everything new is apperently according to them) and should be burnt.... C'mon, it's easy to store and looks cool! They say "it's just pieces of flocked wood etc...."
As for the buildings, rumours state that they will be around the same prices as the Cities of Death-buildings (so £12 for one IIRC). It's also the perfect oppurtunity to get good Mordheim-terrain! minus_t February 8th, 2007, 12:12 I'm not fully sold on the modular board, while it is cool that GW are (to some extent) taking account of peoples lack of storage space etc, I think the (relatively) small size of the modules makes it quite easy to guess distances, because you know how far 24" is, thus 12" etc etc.
Obviously that is why it has curved sides, but I don't think it really helps that much. Of course, I am just playing devil's advocate a bit, but (imo) it's a valid point. Maybe you could cover it with one of GW's grass matts (ch-ching)!
Otherwise, everything looks pretty cool (price pending), the trees are kinda odd, but it's not hard to stick some clump flock onto the branches, and leave the plastic ones at home...
Good thieving Kuffy!
-t. magicaltux February 8th, 2007, 12:46 hummmm, does anyone know the size of the gaming table ? is ti something like 4''x6'' or like 3''x5'' ? Da Mighty Camel February 8th, 2007, 12:57 It's 4x6, which is very good. Morden February 8th, 2007, 14:04 The new stuff is great i look forward to get someone fed up playing with the old 40k ruins and 5th edtion buildings also love the new jigsaw grass table will look nice on my new table i made :D Manu_Forti February 9th, 2007, 02:55 If easy storage is the only purpose of a 'jig-saw' grass matt, then I dont see why they bothered.. the current 1 piece matt can be rolled up for easy storage
I love the buildings however.. I'd be too lazy to paint them up nicely though considering my armies would get priority.
Cheers _Toast_ February 9th, 2007, 03:21 Minus T, your on to something. I would become so nasty about that. Knowing the relative size of a piece would mean that a Nuln Gunnery school would eat you alive. Im not Sold on the buildings, id rather make my own, but i would probably get the fencec set up. I think that the Cities of Death Buildings are way cooler (i love the fantasy game more, just so you know) But i do realize it would be too difficult to make nice modular building set ups for fantasy.
Overall: 8/10 Stonehambey February 9th, 2007, 09:24 The great thing about FB is that you don't need much terrain. So a couple of hills, a wood and one of these buildings would set you up fine for most battles. Of course you can always have more terrain in your collection for a bit of variety.
Ciao
