This doesnt seem to have popped up before, sorry if it has. The Legion of the Damned are pretty cool. The models are expensive but nice looking and the idea for them is interesting. I read the following of the games wokshop web site
"The Games Development team are looking into updating the Cursed Founding Chapters in line with the rules in the latest Space Marine Codex. When these rules become available we will present them along with this article."
But when will this happen the rules for them at the moment seem sketchy and hard to find at best. But does any one know where I can find the the rules I think were posted in an old white dwarf? Are they still valid?

I have some rules, but the WD they are in is not only old, it is ancient, so I don't think they would be valid. The best thing to do is probably just to make a DIY-chapter.

Yeah, the last rules I saw of them in a White Dwarf had them running around with WS8 and Init 6 and other crazyness like that. That was probably pre 3rd edition rules, where 5 Grey Knights was an army and Marines all had godlike stats. It was so old that the out of print LOD character named Centurius(?) was in there.
There was an update of their rules in an Index Astartes, but those rules became unoffocial with the update of the Marine codex. The rules can still be apply to the new codex though, all they do is add a few points to pay for the LOD effects of deepstrike and invulnersable saves, and the drawback is limitting the equipment they use, just like Flesh over Steel does.
You could represent them with the new rules: Take the trait that gives them the 6+ invulnerable, The trait that infiltrates them and Flesh Over Steel as a drawback, and another drawback that will satisfy the drawbacks but still be fitting like Death before Dishonor or something.
Then Take allied Grey Knights, and represent them with converted LOD Abominations. They actually represent them quite well: there are LOD Marines that are actually alive. They mutate continuously with a disease they caught in the warp, making their stronger and rotted like a zombie's, untill they start to manifest Psychic powers right before they die to become one of the ghostly warriors of their Legion. Your Cursed Knights(LOD Marines that are more or less unaffected) can be represented with Veterans with no traits applied. Though they aren't the original Veterans of the chapter(No one survived but the basic Battle Brothers), they are still pretty old and have had experience combating deamons in the warp, as no doubt all living remnants of the Fire Hawks have.
If GW says they want to redo them, they probably will get around to it eventually. I never believed them when they said they would eventually do Harlequins, but sure enough here they are.

Could you give us a link to the article, or at least tell us where on the GW site you found it?

Thanks for your help I think tailoring them with traits would be the best way along with using allied Grey Knight rules. It is a shame tho that there isn't more unique rules for them but I guess there are already and abundance of elite super soldiers to choose from.
The link is GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marines : Cursed Founding Chapters (http://uk.games-workshop.com/spacemarines/cursed/1/) but it seems to have been there for a while

Yeah, I was interested in them myself a while ago, and I own an original box of an unbuilt LOD Tactical squad. I was going to run a small force of them to ally with my Black Templars and to experience what it's like to run a deepstriking Vindicator, but I came to find the old rules don't allow them to ally with Black Templars, and deepstiking a Vindicator is just wrong anyways. The Legion of the Damned are pretty cool.
Not only are the Legion of the Damned oretty cool they've got an amazing backstory and totally unique character to them. GW need to revamp the rules and models. Some Legion of the Damned related novels too please.
