View Full Version : Problem uploading photos to the showcase Commisarlestat March 11th, 2007, 05:06 Hi,
This has probably been posted before but i couldnt find anything similar so...
I have tried to upload photos onto the showcase from my computer but it says that i cant for some reason. its nothing to do with file size (i double checked) it just says there is some sort of error. I'm obviously doing something wrong and was just wondering how i could get my photos up!
Can someone help?
A DavidVC04 March 13th, 2007, 03:21 Are you still having this problem? If so, can you copy and paste the exact message you're receiving? Commisarlestat March 14th, 2007, 18:36 An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster
thats the exact message. im uploading from my computer itself and have checked the file run virus scans etc but all seems ok there. I also have put photos in my threads form photobucket and that works. would i just have to load my pictures in that way instead??
thanks for your time
A DavidVC04 March 15th, 2007, 00:12 I'm inquiring about it. Thanks for being patient.
I've had it happen to me, too, and it was fixed, or fixed itself, or something. I don't remember the particulars. But it can be sorted out.
You can insert pics into your threads if you'd like, just as you've been doing. The showcase is nice because it's a bit more permanent. Threads die and sink off to page 472 somewhere, whereas the showcase images are always there. Ash March 15th, 2007, 21:46 I just had a similar problem.
Tried to upload a pic and got the 'no image specified' message. I have posted dozens of pictures previously with no problem. I have plenty of upload space and the file path is correct. The same pix loaded into photobucket without problems.

I also have experienced a similar but not identical problem. The showcase will have a delay on showing any responses to images. I have tried to respond to some images, particularly images that I have put up and people have since asked about.
After reponding to these questions I have waited for several days but nothing has happened. Other people post replies after me, asking more stuff where my responses are non-existent. I have tried again a week or more later and still nothing ever appears. It is annoying as the people who asked things probably think I am nasty because I never respond to them.
Does anybody know why this is happening? DavidVC04 March 17th, 2007, 02:08 Blackhat has said that he'll be looking into the showcase problems this weekend, or if he's unable, then soon after.
If anyone else is having problems with the showcase, please let us know in this thread. The more info Blackhat has, the quicker he can rectify the problem. Ash March 18th, 2007, 19:57 Feedback:
I just managed to post my pic.
Three cheers to the techno Guru, for fixing what ever it was!
Ash. Commisarlestat April 5th, 2007, 15:45 just tried to upload a pic again but im still having the same message and problem.
A Adrian MalSeraph April 5th, 2007, 16:15 It must be to do with the server move.
I'm having a similar problem, and as it's so similar, I didn't bother making a new thread.
I seem to be unable to upload a new avatar. I keep getting an "Invalid File" message, when I'm trying to put in a JPEG... Cyric the Mad April 6th, 2007, 03:13 I'm getting the same message when trying to upload to the showcase. I'll assume it's a residual issue of the server move, unless I hear otherwise, and just remind myself to be patient. DavidVC04 April 6th, 2007, 07:42 I'll go and ask Oz what the deal is. It's an annoying problem that needs to go away.
So how exactly should I phrase my question to the Great Oz? Blackhat April 6th, 2007, 13:20 Now its fixed jONESIE April 6th, 2007, 14:05 It must be to do with the server move.

Do you mean the gallery or the avatar issue ? Commisarlestat April 8th, 2007, 01:08 Its the gallery for me.
Its not a huge problem as i have a photobucket account if it is just one of those things i dont mind.
A Blackhat April 8th, 2007, 13:53 Does it work now, if not what error do you get ?
Its working here Nobby Nobbes April 9th, 2007, 15:30 Hi, I'm a newbie, but I'm having problems uploading an image on the showcase gallery. Any help, much appreciated. :D DavidVC04 April 9th, 2007, 16:32 Hi, I'm a newbie, but I'm having problems uploading an image on the showcase gallery. Any help, much appreciated. :D
Can you tell us more about the problem? How far do you get in the process? What error messages, if any, are you receiving? Nobby Nobbes April 9th, 2007, 17:15 I went through the process and submitted, but this is the message I got:
An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster
I don not know what to do. Blackhat April 9th, 2007, 21:01 in what section of the gallery did you try to upload ? Ash April 9th, 2007, 22:10 Hi,
I just tried to load a pic into the Daemonhunters section of the 40k Gallery and got:
'No Image specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator'
I've had this in the past and it got fixed, so I'm sure you can make it go away again. Thanks in advance.
Ash. Nobby Nobbes April 10th, 2007, 01:11 Dwarfs Blood_Blade April 10th, 2007, 05:37 I have also had this problem in the Space Marine and the Imperial Guard sections. honorableSimon April 10th, 2007, 07:44 in what section of the gallery did you try to upload ?
I also had problems uploading to the Chaos Marines section, same error message.
*EDIT*
And the drawing section, although at this point I would wager it's just all sections  good luck fixing, although you never seem to need it :D Ash April 18th, 2007, 10:46 Hi,
Still getting:
'No Image specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator'
every time I try to upload a pic.
No joy as of 25/04/07 Blackhat April 18th, 2007, 21:18 Ill have a look at it once I get home :) Fox3 May 15th, 2007, 02:36 I am having this problem also.
I'm trying to upload files to the "Tau & Kroot" section. It gives me this: "An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster"
Also, the link in the word "webmaster" is wrong, it needs to not have the "mailto:" in it. DavidVC04 May 29th, 2007, 05:28 Well, seems like I caught this bug myself. I've tried to upload images of my new Spellsinger to the WE Showcase and it won't process them at all.
Sometimes, it shows broken images and other times it says that I linked to invalid image. The image is in an accepted file format (.jpg), the same sort of thing I've uploaded in the past, but no love.
Blackhat, can you help me? I will slaughter for you three oxen and build five glorious temples in your honor. :D TwoHats June 4th, 2007, 16:15 Ditto problems for me..
I also wanna delete old pictures I've posted. Going back they are.... well bad. How do I do this? | |
